Turn any workbench into a ski tuning and waxing bench with the Toko World Cup Ski Vise. The three-part system enables tuning of Nordic and alpine skis in both vertical and horizontal positions. Turn the skis on their sidewall when you're tuning the vertical edges, and lay them flat when you're sharpening the base edges. The Toko World Cup Ski Vise also holds the skis securely when you're ironing and scraping wax.

Bottom Line: The Toko World Cup Ski Vise offers bomber support for tuning and waxing your skis.

Good product- I'm pleased with mine

I had no proper ski vise prior to this one. I ordered the TOKO World Cup on the advice of a friend, and am quite pleased. I have mainly used it with 55mm-waisted skis so far, but see no reason why it wouldn't also work well in the wider advertised range. Initially my skis with tapered cap construction popped out, but I quickly realized that I was over-tightening the vise. When I backed the clamping pressure off slightly they held firmly and no longer popped out. The rubber pads are sufficiently grippy, and have some taper built into their profile.

One thing I looked for prior to ordering and could not find was the maximum jaw opening of the hold-down clamps. I have a thick woodworking bench, and needed to know if these would mount to it. In case anyone else is in the same boat, I have measured the product and find that 2 3/8" is the maximum bench thickness that this vise can mount to, without requiring some sort of modification.

One useful accessory if you are tuning skinny skis is the TOKO Nordic Ski Support. These are little platforms that mount to the tip and tail supports of the World Cup vise to give more stability and support when working on light, skinny skis. In the TOKO product photo the Nordic Ski Supports could be mistaken for metal. They are actually plastic, but seem plenty strong for what they need to do.

Nice travel vise!

This is a great travel vise! the c-clamps are very secure and open plenty wide to mount it to whatever you need. I only use this for XC skis which is works perfect for. Plenty of adjustments for whatever skis you're waxing. There's not really a lot more to say. Nice, stable, colorful vise. If you don't mind the yellow, pick it up!

The only way to go

After having used a home grown setup for the last few years, I decided to treat myself and get a real set of vises. By the time I finished the first set of skis, I was wondering to myself why I had been doing it the hard way for so long. Highly recommended for anyone that wants to wax or tune their own gear.

Very stable for midfats and smaller

So far I have used this on a pair of Salomon 1080 Thrusters, and fitted it to my G3 Rapid Transits (91 mm waist). The thrusters want to pop out if you try to clamp the beveled edges, but by carefully clamping the binding they lock down like they were superglued to the vise. Rapid transits took some work to find the true minimum thickness in the waist, but vertical sidewalls clamped strong. I would not recommend trying to use these on any ski with a waist wider than 90 mm, since you will be on the last thread of the adjustment bolt. I agree with Toko that ~85 mm is probably as big as you will want to consistently use these without worrying about durability issues from over-stressing the last threads on the bolt. That said, this vise is built very solid and works flawlessly within the range it is designed for.

Are you guys going to start carrying some wider vises? These

Are you guys going to start carrying some wider vises? These are all race ski vises. Last time I looked, you don't sell race skis. With all the fatties in the warehouse, you need to carry the Swix and Toko super wide vices. Just a suggestion and I need a new vice. Thanks

Toko Ski Vise World Cup

By: Backcountry.com Employee

From Toko:
"There is a new version available this year (item number 556003) that opens up to over 85mm, so that It can accommodate some of the wider waists of the newer skis. I did these measurements at the lower part of the rubber jaws. There is probably a little more wiggle room, I was just being conservative."
