The Time Xpresso Pedal sits squarely between the line’s 12 and 8, with low weight and durable construction at a price that is just right. Using a carbon baseplate, Time keeps the weight of the Xpresso 10 below 100 grams. While they do not have the titanium axles of their big brother, the pedals feature all of the same adjustment features of the 12. They use carbon Flexion blades rather than traditional metal springs to provide release and engagement, giving you +/- 5 degrees of float. More significant is the 2.5mm of lateral movement that adjusts the Q-factor. Additionally, the Bioposition design of the pedals places the sole of your shoe close to the pedal to allow maximum power transfer. The platform itself is 700 square millimeters to further facilitate this transfer. Finally, Time’s iClic concept pre-opens the mechanism so that your foot releases quickly. Coupled with this is a 15-degree release angle.
