Nope, standard nylon packcloth interior...but I have been using this pack as a laptop briefcase for 18 months with no leakage issues

This really a pretty sweet bag. The padding on the laptop compartment is without comparison. It's a really really nice pouch, lined with corduroy. Protects my laptop well enough to completely put it out of my mind. The bag itself might look a little bit goofy to start with, but it definitely grows on you. Holds all I need on a daily basis. I whole heartedly suggest it.

I'll answer my own question, since I went ahead and bought the bag. Yes. It's really nice. Roomy and well designed without feeling like a full pack. It's comfortable and distributes the weight nicely. Timbuk2 products can take a beating too. Thus far, I'm very pleased.
