Just got my new Swig off this website. Please keep in mind this is the old model. No it doesn't have zip access to the laptop compartment. Also the laptop padding really sucks, it moves around inside the pack and does nothing to protect my 15" laptop from the floor. Also this pack was made in the Phillipines, not San Francisco.

Bought this for my cousin who's in Jr High. The pack is good sized, with a great organizer pocket in the front. The main compartment has an separate sleeve for your laptop, with velcro closure. The main compartment has room for books and other items, but it's not as expandable and wide as it appears in the photos. If you can fold your jacket up pretty slim, you'll be able to fit books and your jacket. Otherwise, it's just good for books, papers, and your computer.
What's the difference between the Swig daypack and the Swig
What's the difference between the Swig daypack and the Swig laptop bag? Is one of these just an older model? Is the pocket for the laptop the same?

No difference. The "daypack" on this page is last year's model (discontinued colors). They both have dedicated laptop sleeves. The small fits most 15" laptops and the medium most 17" ones.
