I picked up this bag after comparing a couple of different bags. I have a thicker 15.6" laptop and it is tough to find a bag that holds it but isn't a complete pain to get in and out. This one worked great for that and so I picked it up, but the other day I was setting my bag down with my laptop in it on a wood floor when I heard solid contact between the floor and my computer. Not good. The padding is basically some soft corduroy material, good for not scratching, not so good for taking any impact. Definitely an issue for me as I am traveling and don't want my laptop to be killed in transit.
