Ride to the office without missing a blink.

Commuting to work is awesome, but you usually arrive at the office a bit sweaty and in need of a change of clothes. That's where the Timbuk2 Especial Raider Pack comes into play. This lightweight pack specializes in carrying a fresh pair of duds and shoes—allowing you to transition from your favorite morning ride into work without missing a blink.

A large main compartment conveniently holds a change of clothes, and it even includes a separate compartment for shoes. As soon as you arrive at the office, pop out your work-appropriate kicks and slip your cycling cleats into the quarantined pocket. Even more impressive, the pack's back panel doubles as a folding board, holding one dress shirt in wrinkle-free condition. In addition, a top accessory pocket secures your phone, wallet, and keys, and two stretch side pockets clench a U-lock, water bottle, or snack within quick reach.

    • Lightweight ripstop nylon with reflective hits
    • Airmesh back panel and shoulder straps
    • Large main compartment holds change of clothes

    Perfect Pack!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a perfectly sized pack for an overnight plus a little more. The dedicated shoe storage works great. The smaller pocket for personal items is well designed with lanyard for keys. It also works well as a daypack for a commuter trip to the city, or a day on the trails. I highly recommend this pack.

    Superlight

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The backpack is light, comfortable, and opens wider than an alligator. The zippers in the main compartment allow access to almost all of the bag. I'm a big fan. The bottom is reflective as well. I can't speak to the waterproofing - I have not used in in the rain yet.

    Minimalist #supercommute Pack

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This pack is almost perfect. It's light as can be, with a couple mesh side outer pockets to carry that extra something, and a moderate size zipper pocket at the top alongside the main body of the pack. It is just able to fit my Mac Book Pro 15.4 in what was designed to be the shirt pocket. I also tote pants, shirt, undergarmets and lunch/snack most days. When I add a pair of shoes I'm clearly pushing it's limits but it can be done.

I'm giving it four stars because I commute via singletrack MTB most days, and it could really use a waist belt (it only has a chest belt) to help control the pack in rougher terrain or abrupt movements when filled with the contents detailed above. Lastly, and a minor gripe, because of its minimalist naturewhen the top zipper compartment has contents in it, and the pack doesn't, it gets very floppy, making it a bit more difficult to pack than others I've used previously.

All that said, this pack has been great and has stood up well to near-daily commuting use this year and some travel as well.
