The Timbuk2 Commute Laptop Bag was cleverly designed so you can breeze through airport security with a laptop, access your small gadgets quickly, and this bag slides over the handle of your rolling luggage so you can roll everything together. Most messenger bags leave you fumbling to pull out your passport or your laptop, but the Commute was designed with the traveler in mind, so breathe easy and enjoy the travel as much as the destination.
    • Tough ballistic nylon shrugs off years of travel and commuting while keeping your goodies inside safe
    • Waterproof TPU liner keeps your electronics dry when faced with light precipitation
    • Quilted laptop compartment zips open so this bag lays flat in two sections for security scanners (TSA-compliant)
    • Napolean-style side entry allows you to reach inside your Commute to grab your MP3 player without undoing the buckles to main compartment
    • Shoulder strap has padding and was designed to be removable depending on your preferred carry-on style
    • Item #TBK0192

    Durable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This bag really looks nice and is very durable. It was what i was looking for in a bag. Not to big or clunky and looks great with business attire. I use this for carrying my books and lunch on my way to work so now i have more freedom with my hands and less stress when commuting.

    The perfect day-to-day travel bag

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

If you're carrying a 15" MacBook Pro...then this is the bag to snag. The things I compared it against had to have:
    1. Water bottle pockets
    2. Pen/utility organizers
    3. dividers for laptop, tablet, and mobile battery
    4. Zipper pockets for small items
    5. Water proof liner
    6. Adjustable strap (one handed adjust)
    7. Easy TSA laptop filet compartment
    8. Can be velcro or buckled closed
    9. Top handle for easy stow under seat or overhead compartment
    10. practically bullet proof.

After doing my research looking for all of these things, guess which one came out on top? That's right, Timbuk2. I've been a fan of Gregory, Osprey, and old school North Face backpacks. I've been on the hunt for one that can handle tons of travel, makes for good day-to-day use, and can double as a kids diaper bag...which I used while my kiddo still under 3. It's basically a dynamo bag. The only thing I wish it had was a padded pocket that fits perfectly for a travel keyboard. Still haven't found one of those anyway, so i doubt they exist. Would I suggest it? You could say, "yes." I'd highly recommend it.

    The bag you will love!

I'll break this review up in a couple of pieces: Quality, Organization (utility), Style, and Accessibility.

Quality - Solidly built with very durable fabrics. Something that really brings me to getting a Timbuk2 was that they have waterproof TPU fabrics that keep things waterproof, which are awesome! Downside is that this one doesn't have it all the way around like most of their bags. A small gripe considering it's damn near bomb proof and really to use this thing in the rain isn't really what it's built for. Handling a few drops would be easy enough for this bag I would suggest they make it with seam sealed zippers on the computer compartment size, though.

Organization - Excellent. Many pockets for many things. I looked at a lot of bags: Chrome, Dakine, REI, Mission, and many others. This one stood out to me in that it had the right amount of pockets to organize with that I was needing for my overly-OCD need to have things where I want them to be. Oh, and it's one of the few bags that had an exterior water bottle pocket. Two interior water bottle mesh pockets, which I use for cable storage are an awesome build. The front napoleon pocket is perfect for tickets or fast to access paper. Two just-so-happen to be sized perfect for tablet sized accessories (my kindle and iPad). I will say that the 15" MacBook Pro is a bit too tight to call a good fit. It feels like I'm going to burst the seems on the Medium bag. Just keep that in mind for those of you out there with one looking at this bag that it'll be a VERY tight squeeze. As far as organization goes, which is why I bought this, I'd say A+. (also a good back up for you Daddy's out there looking for a non-girly diaper bag).

Style - This bag looks great and is nicely understated for it's ability to be a durable messenger and a travel bag. Blends into business needs when needed. Blends into street/urban style when needed. Good mix!

Accessibility - Easy to get into and easy to pack. Well done!

    Great bag, great quality.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This bag is super durable! I've been using it for a few years now and it still looks new. It's got a huge spot for a laptop, room for books, a waterbottle and all your accessories. The one downside of this bag is that it has no pockets on the outside when it's closed, not even a small one for keys or your phone. :( If they made that upgrade, I'd give it 5 stars.

    Recently upgraded, Thanks Mum

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I recently got a new timbuk2 thanks to a gift card from me mum. I Have been using this pack almost exclusively going to work and back since I received it in the mail. This one barely fits in my hospital locker (whoa). It straps nice to my body ( bought one of those chest strap accessories which cinches it tightly to my body when I am rushing to work. The padded Laptop casing is very nice and it fits my mac perfectly. I wish it had a little bit more room for my lunch and what not, but with what space it does have it is perfect. Aside from that I love this bag and will continue using it my 3 work days a week!

I am upgrading my current Commuter Bag and would like to know the interior color(s) of the Black/Black/Black item? Thank you
