Commute 2.0 Laptop Bag

Timbuk2 messenger specialists made the Commute 2.0 Laptop Bag from ballistic nylon and added a waterproof front flap and bottom to keep your laptop as safe as possible. The laptop compartment is TSA compliant to save you time in security. Unzip your Timbuk2 bag and lay the laptop compartment flat for quick airport security maneuvering but judging from the high cognitive abilities of most security personal we’ve encountered in our travels, you shouldn’t be completely surprised if they still give you flak for it. The Commute 2.0 has an internal organizer panel for the rest of your traveling goodies and the waterproof TPU front flap will keep them dry in light rain on your way from the wastelands(economy lot) to the terminal.

Bottom Line: There’s no reason to fear for your laptops life anymore—Except maybe for the roaming packs of marauding nomads in the economy lot.

Look'n for a Bag, Stop Here

I had a North Face bag previously and thought it was great, until I checked out one of these. This is packed full of features and has plenty of pockets to organize your stuff that are really well thought out. The laptop has it's own separate compartment which you'll find is more helpful than you thought it would be. The elastic drink holder on the outside is a huge plus, just wish there was one on both sides. Very comfortable strap, and carries great. The quality of Timbuk2 is awesome, this bag is built like a tank! I would not hesitate to buy this bag, you won't be disappointed.

I understand that this will generally fit a 17" laptop, but mine is 17.3" and a little bit thick--is there enough wiggle room for those of you with a 17" laptop that one a little bit bigger would fit?

Fits a 17" mac book nicely. Holds books and all the other stuff that a laptop needs well. Looks good. Solid construction. Like I said, exactly what it needs to be

Hey, so the colors listed are dark brown, flame, then dark brown, which is brown, red and brown. The picture, however, shows orange, black and orange. Is the picture representative of the products you have in stock, or is it the color description?

The main product picture is wrong- it has the colors mixed up. Here is a photo of the Dark Brown/ Flame/ Dark Brown variant.

Great design, but didn't hold up...

I loved this bag, especially the unzippable lie-flat compartment for my laptop, which meant that I did not have to remove the laptop when passing through airport security. The problem: I went through 2 bags (both returned to REI) because the handle started to come unattached from the bag. In the case of the 2nd bag, this happened after about 5 days of using the bag around town and 1 week abroad, where I didn't even use it on a daily basis. I was very disappointed with the quality of the bag, especially given my previous experience with several Timbuk2 messenger bags.

My guess would be that Google's info is not current, that It is still probably showing the winter clearance price when everything on the site was up to 50% off. But that's just my guess, it sucks when you get all excited about a price like that. I know, I use the shop feature of Google a lot too, I feel your pain!

Great bag for commuting/travelling!

Lots of compartments for your stuff. Huge main compartment is waterproof. Stays in place when biking. Padded laptop compartment is great, although most TSA workers will still make you remove your laptop going through airport security. No durability issues so far.

This bag is perfect for what I needed. I travel a lot, but have become pretty good about bringing only the essentials on the plane, but no bag does a better job of organizing said articles. This bag is also awesome for school, perfect size. It's very comfortable and accessible while wearing it. The TSA friendly laptop compartment is the real selling point, so highly recommended.
