Here's what others have to say...

Is it waterproof?

Is it waterproof?

They say waterproof. However, every full leather boot I have ever owned has needed real waterproofing like mink oil or sno-seal. In most cases with leather, the stock waterproofing lasts half the first day, and Timberlands are no exception.

Yes, and the good news is you can return it back to backcountry if they are not!

Pay attention to "large-fit" reviews

Great fit, but only if you go down a size. I'm a solid 9 in most brands (sometimes 9.5), but I read the reviews and took the sizing seriously and ordered an 8 ... bingo! Perfect fit. About the boot; high-grade leather feels great and flexes well. Streamlined Vibram soles are nice and firm, which I've had in the past and appreciate for the longevity and comfort. Believe it; the firmer sole will lead to less foot fatigue. Notch at the achilles is great and should be ideal for motorcycle riding this spring/summer.

Good boots, run a bit big.

These are some great boots. They feel like they can handle any terrain and last for many moons. I got em for winter (grip the sidewalk and block the cold) and they have been great so far. I can't wait to get them on the trail for some long distance tests! The size is pretty big and I had to get .5 size smaller. Also runs kind of wide. Put your mark in the footbed, wear em in and take a hike!

      Good shoe but runs big

I had to return this shoe. I normally wear a size 12 but this one fit more like a size 13.

        Good shoe but runs big

I just got these boots and need to exchange them. Argh!!! The size 12 is not a size 12, more like a 13!!Overall, I like the feel and the look of these. They are comfy, my ankles have good support, and the sole is solid underfoot. If you get them, I'd recommend going down one size. At least that is my experience.
