Lace up. It's cold outside. You got to change into your boots to ski. Then you get to come back to these comfy, awesome, warm, wonderful Timby's at the car at the end of the day.
I bought these boots to wear out in town this winter, something to keep my feet dry and still look good. There is absolutely no insulation in these boots so pair them with a some wool socks. They are comfortable right out of the box and take not time to break in. There is more than enough traction on the sole to work in snow and ice and well as mud and rain. The boots clean right off with very little effort.
Here are mine after about two years of use. Minus the dirt they're still doing well even after lots of ankle deep mud and water and little to no additional care. The sizes run different. Typically a boot is a size smaller than say your running shoe; these are smaller. I wear a 10.5 or 11 in addidas but my timbs are 9.5. My only complaint is the soft soles. They wear out a bit quick for 160 $ boot. I am going to try to get them replaced though.

They have served me well from hiking to landscaping. The waterproofing is good. The depression era styling is perfect. Sole's a bit week but livable. I do think they're replacable however.
These are comfortable and light. Soles wear quickly and they are only waterproof to the base of the tongue as the tongue isnt joined to the boot so water can get in from pretty much bottom of ankle height. I'd call them splash proof. They are also not insulated so they are not good for long exposure to cold. So long as you know all this this is a comfortable good looking boot.
These boots feel great. They hug the ankle nicely and are much lighter than I expected. They also look amazing and exactly as pictured on this website. I took other customer's advice and ordered a smaller size. I usually wear a 9 or 9.5. I went with 8.5 and they fit like a glove. Also, I placed this order yesterday and received it today.... and I live in Canada! Excellent service from backcountry.com
I'm really happy with these boots. They look great, and are very comfortable out of the box. The sole is solid, grippy - seems a lot like vibram but it's Timberland's "green rubber" compound - seems really sticky/grippy so far. The color of the boot exactly matches the image on this site. The most important thing to note is that this boot runs really large. I originally ordered a Men's 10. It was WAY too big. Based on how big the 10 was, I replaced it with an 8.5 which is honestly, still I tiny bit big. I usually wear a men's 9.5 or 10. So unless you are going to wear really heavy oldschool wool socks, I would suggest downsizing at least 1 size on this boot....possibly even more.
Loved these boots for the few moments I had them, unfortunately had to return them as they were too large. I usually wear a 9-9 1/2 and, as other reviewers noted, these boots definitely run large. Very comfortable, stylin', and great construction. I will be getting a pair of 8 1/2 as soon as they are available.
Coolest looking 6in boot out there. When I first got these, I passed them around the office and we took turns smelling the leather; it's got that freshly oiled baseball glove scent to it. This is a great looking boot, perfect for fall weather and fall casual apparel. With a thick wool sock (this boot is not insulated), this will do fine this winter too. The Earthkeeper story is just the icing on the cake. Because this boot is not insulated, I would go a 1/2 size smaller.
