    Thule Bars

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these bars for your run of the mill surf trips and general extra cargo space up top. I drive a 94 jeep cherokee and have had these racks for about 5 months and the fit with just about every cargo rack/basket rack set up. There very simple and easy to install, plus they are made in the great US of A so that's always a huge plus, love to support American workers and companies. These racks are well rounded, multipurpose across the board, and I know that they will serve you well. And who better to buy from the Buy these racks and go have a good day in the outdoors.

    Nice, simple, cost-effective bars

We have a Toyota Tacoma with a topper and have a Thule track system permanently installed. The square bars work with almost any gear carrier.

Here is the system for this specific setup:

Thule Podium Fit Kit - 3101

Thule Podium Foot Packs - Square Bar

Thule Load Bar Pair - 58"

Great way to put anything on your roof

It's no surprise that Thule cross bars are one of the best accessories you can put on any vehicle. You can haul anything you want knowing that it will be secured to you vehicle without damaging your roof. I did however discover that Thule crossbars no longer come with the end caps included. For those you will need to purchase item THU0064 for $9.95. These really complete the look of your rack but they won't come up in the Thule fit guide as they are considered an accessory, not a requirement. Here they are on my 2014 Tacoma.

      Heavy duty bars

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I"m a contractor and load these bars down with heavy ladders and they are fully bombproof. My last pair were pretty rusted inside the plastic coating after about 10 years of use and they were still super strong. I wouldn't trust any other load bars with my heavy equipment at 80 MPH on the freeway.

These bad boys can carry a load

I've had these parts on a honda civic, a grand cherokee and a wrangler. Doesn't matter what car, these bars will not only haul your bikes and skis, but they'll get your plywood home from home depot and they'll give you something to tie your christmas tree to. Highly recommended.

      Must Have!

I racked my 1999 Nissan Sentra and the 50" bars fit perfect and look very good on my little green car! I use these all the time with my Cargo Box, ski rack, kayak rack, hauling wood, and I through a bunch of stuff up there when I moved. My car is so small that it doesn't hold very much stuff so this rack lets me carry the things that don't fit in my trunck!

I am the proud owner of several Thule load bars. The 48 inch lil guys are perfect for a couple of mountain bikes, and the big ol 80 inchers tranform my little civic into a double canoe carrying monster. I've slammed many a wet nasty boat & muddy mountain bike into these, I've loaded ladders & logs on it, and even put a piece of plywood on top to dance on at a bonfire... Just a great thing to have on your car.

          versatile and durable

I have the rack feet for BMW and volvo and can switch this bar between them whenever im using a different car. it works well with any attachment, and i use it to hold bikes and skis. i also bought this aerodynamic wind shield thing that attaches to the front bar that helps with wind resistance and directs most air over my stuff. ive had this bar for 25 years so you know it will hold up well.

My weapon of choice in the event of a zombie apocalypse

These bars are super strong, Hercules strong, and relativity light weight. I have the 50 inch bars on my Toyota Yaris and they fit great. I have had them on my car for two years now and they have supported everything from mountain bikes to my friends being jackasses. Bottom line: If your looking for a super solid cross bars to hold all your outdoors gear or even an elephant or two look no further.

              Great Truck Rack

I have them mounted on my 07 Tacoma using the L2S Sport Rack Brackets on my Toyota bed cleats. They work great! Very strong & secure. I have my kayak, bike, & surfboards all on board with plenty of room for my gear below. Never had a problem!

Four different bars are offered. What are the differences?

Specifically, the numbers are the loadbar length in inches. There is a banner near the top of all the Thule pages on for the Car Rack Configurator. You can use that to find out exactly what Thule products will work for your make/model/year of vehicle.

We bought a 2008 Chevy Equinox last year and it has luggage rails but no bars. Can I order the bars from you and how much would they be?

I don't know anything about load bars, but...

I don't know anything about load bars, but was looking for car top carriers for our road bikes. I guess this is where we would start as I don't have load bars on my car?

The easiest place to start is on the Thule website-

You pick your car make, year, and model and choose the type of activities you need a rack for (ski, bike, kayak, etc).

From there, it will give you all the components you need for a complete set-up.

                Quick and Easy!

can you cut the bars down to any size?

can you cut the bars down to any size?

I've done it several times for different cars. The best method is a Dermel tool with a cutting wheel. Use a face sheild, safety glasses, or googles!. Mark your bar, wrap masking tape around the bar at the mark to have a guide to follow, cut the bar. Use a utility knife to cut back to rubber so the end will accept an end cap. Viola!
