I'd like to put this side-by-side with a big mouth bike rack. Any thoughts on whether it will fit? I'm using the ride-on adapters with two bike racks, but this looks like it might be narrow enough to fit next to a single rack.

First time go is a win for Thule

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have never used Thule products before buying this several months ago. I was looking around at cargo boxes and Yakima seemed to only offer options that spanned the entire roof. Then I stumbled onto this box by Thule that still gives me ample bar space to have more functions. What I like about this box is it is super easy to install like most boxes these days. It will universally fit all crossbar systems. The newer composite material is a lot lighter than many other models out there. Without strapping skis and snowboards down I can literally fit close to 6 sets of fat skis up top. The cap is easy to maneuver in all weather conditions. It is not a one season and done type of product. I can use this for all seasons and most activities I am heavily engaged in. The box makes zero noise up top. The boxes integrity stays intact no leaking. And hey I threw a goat on it so it is that much more awesome. This was one of the best purchases I have made in 2014 and am sure this one is going to last me years to come!

Super Deal

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I had been shopping for this box for a while knowing exactly what I wanted. I had a bad experience trying to purchase this at another retailer in my area when Thule put them on sale. The other retailer had a bigger discount but wanted over 3x the money for shipping(freight). After making an easy purchase from Backcountry.com, I was able to get it for less total money with freight being much less. I got exactly what I wanted with no hassle. Also, the freight company sent a very helpful driver that helped me tie the box tho the rack on my car. He did not have to do that. Everything about this purchase was hassle free and I also got a great deal. I know I got a deal because Thule equipment is basically priced the same everywhere. I was able to take advantage of a sale and they were the best deal when it comes to shipping.

Love this

Love this box! Super easy installation and you have the dual entry points. The dual entry points make it super easy to load gear into it. The box is super sturdy. It can handle anything you want to put in there like bodies, skies, snowboards or just gear. I am a big fan of boxes.

New line fills in size gaps

Force Alpine Cargo Box is the perfect size for getting our nordic skis out of the car now that we need to put a car seat in the back. The Ascent 1700 and 1100 were longer than needed and would have interfered with the rear door opening on our 2008 Subaru Impreza wagon. With the Force Alpine I can open rear door all the way without the front of the box sticking over the windshield. It holds my 205 skis with room to spare. The tool-free mounting takes less than 5 minutes to install and makes it very easy to make adjustments and re-align the box. And it hasn't needed tightening after a few weeks of winter driving over rough, Vermont dirt roads. The wind noise is not bad, and much less than driving with just the Thule bars on the car. Very happy we went with this box.
