Carbon Mountain Handlebar

Representing Thomson's first foray into carbon-fiber, the Thomson Carbon Mountain Handlebar delivers the attention to detail and high-quality construction that put Thomson on the aerospace-engineering map. This flat bar features a 730-millimeter width for plenty of stability when you're flying across flowing cross-country loops and rugged trails alike. However, it's highly adapted for use on XC race bikes and 29ers, due to its flat/0-degree rise that's reversible for a lowered front end. Reversing the bar drops them by 5-millimeters, which is especially crucial to XC-racers looking for a low-slung stance.

Better known for their machined aluminum components, Thomson didn't pull any stops in the production of this carbon handlebar. Instead of producing it in their Georgia facility, they handed over production to Toray, which produces carbon fiber components for the likes of Boeing and Airbus. As for ensuring quality in the production process, these bars are certified to EN and tested to DIN+ standards.

These bars feature a carbon fiber blend that optimizes their tensile strength, vibration dampening, and lightweight performance. Nano Epoxy resin improves impact-resistance when you're tossing them into rough sections of trail or happen to take an unexpected spill. Furthermore, you'll find 1.5k woven impact ends to prevent the unidirectional carbon fibers from impact, also retaining integrity if you decide to chop the ends down.
