Boot dryer rocks!

Love this boot/shoe/hiking boot dryer!! More than happy with this purchase!

    Best Boot Dryer out there

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This boot dryer is an essential item to my ski kit. It does the job perfectly and is not loud like other brands. The model with the different timer settings is worth the upgrade. You can set the timer and you don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off. I've had this model for several years and it's in perfect working condition. I travel everywhere with it too so it definitely takes a little bit of a beating and it's still in great condition.

    Essential item

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

This boot dryer is super easy to use and works great FAST! Not too hot so it won't remold footbeds or custom liners. The timer function is an added bonus. If you're debating between the two versions I say get the timer for sure. It's nice to know you can set it and forget it and it will turn itself off. Also works well for gloves.

    Boot liner extender

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This heater is very compact and travels well. Does a great job of drying out boots. This combination is great for at home or on the road after a long day of touring. My liners will last so much longer.

Works, but "fragrance" is weird smelling

    • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just got this item, and used it on 2 trips so far.

I was debating between this and the hotronics snapdry, which are similar in concept. The pivoting nature of the arms is why I picked this one.

It will put out slow stream of air that are just a little over body temp, so no worrying about overcooking your boots, and my not-too-wet ski-boots were dry using the 3hours timer.

One thing to note, the unit has a "fragrance" bar in there; which adds fragrance to "deodorize" your boots. The smell is not good, a little like weird housecleaner, and will prevade your room. The instructions do say that over time it will wear off, hopefully this occur sooner.

If it keeps working as it does right now, I'm happy with it.

But giving it 4stars, because although it's the premium model and expensive it's missing some things that other products have:

    wish list:

    -240v capability

    -nozzle tips for glove

    -disassembly/fit into your boots capability

-12v adapter to use in car.

Thanks for the up about the fragrance! Since this vital ifo wasn't included in the product description it would have been a very unhappy surprise to me. I am sensitive to many fragrance chemicals...

    Just another update.

    1) took this to europe earlier last year. I used a 220->110 transformer was very good, but the therm-ic did not like power output from my transformer and it stopped working completely after about 2hours, electronics fried.

The fan was running faster and the light was flickering when in use.

But, after contacting the NorthAmerica distributor they sent me a replacement, so at least that worked out.

    2) So had an opportunity to take apart the old one to see how it works. The "UV" feature is just a UV led. This makes it a bit of a gimmick as this will not sterilize or kill viruses/bacteria.

    a) There does not exist an UV LED that kills organisms. UV needs to be a very specific wavelength to disrupt cells to disinfect, and UV LEDs are not right . If you look at any other product that actually disinfects, like a steripen, they use a bulb-based UV.

    b) The time the airflow has in the UV light (even if it were the right wavelength) is not enough to kill organisms.

So still 4stars, it's still a good boot dryer,

just be careful to use a very good 110v transformer if travelling or stop usage if it doesn't seem be be running right.

Be aware that the UV is a gimmick, and watch out for the strong "flavorbar" smell, expecially the first uses

    It just plain works!

I bought the previous style of this three years ago, and it works great!
The timer is a good option that mind does not have, mainly because it is quiet and easy to forget about and burn electricity unnecessarily.
Quiet, dependable, and really easy to pack if you are traveling, and comes in handy for gloves as well.

      Therm-ic: Dry & warm boots

whether it's from slush boarding or excessive sweat that leaves you with soggy boots, this dryer works great with the built in timer. it's whisper quiet for over night drying & a must for those 3+ days in a row ski/snowboarding trips.
