Description

A comfortable way to sleep during warm-weather backpacking trips.

Complement your summer camping kit with the Therm-a-Rest Regulus Blanket. Ideally suited for warm weather and dry climates, this synthetic-fill bag strikes just the right balance between weight savings and warmth. With this lightweight sleeping bag and an ultralight air mattress in your pack, you'll be able to move fast on the trail and sleep soundly at night.

  • EraLoft synthetic insulation is warm, easily compressible, and hydrophobic
  • Zoned insulation uses fill sparingly on the edges and underside, and instead concentrates fill at the top of the bag where it provides the most efficient warmth
  • Rectangular shoulder and torso areas gives you room to move while the tapered lower body and foot areas keep insulation close for warmth
  • DWR coating makes the shell material water-resistant and allows it to repel light moisture
  • Draft collar creates a baffle around your neck so cold air can't sneak in at the hood and down inside the body of the sleeping bag
  • Snag-free zipper design means you won't be left fumbling around when you need to climb out of your bag at night
  • Synergy Link straps connect your air mattress to the bottom of your sleeping bag so you can't roll off your mattress at night
  • Stash pocket near the head gives you easy, quick-access storage for a headlamp
  • Stuff sack and storage sack are included for transportation and storage

Warm but heavy

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've been looking for an ultra-light quilt with synthetic insulation to take with me on climbing trips, and I hoped this might fill the bill.

Pros: It is a warm bag - I slept in it outside at 24 deg F on a guidelight thermarest wearing longjohns and a thin synthetic puffy, and I was plenty warm.
Cons: The bag is heavy and bulky. I won't try to estimate the denier, but the fabric is thick -- might be good for longevity, but it is bad for weight. The insulation is also very stiff and puffy - even with a compression sack it ended up bigger than I wanted to carry. A bit strange as a product design selection, since anyone getting a quilt probably values weight over most other considerations.

I've returned the bag, since it didn't meet my intended use.
