    Details

When it comes to comfort and warmth, the Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Dream Sleeping Pad has few rivals. The three-layer design utilizes an inflatable NeoAir mattress, and open-cell foam top layer, and a soft microfleece shell for total comfort and the highest thermal rating of any Therm-a-Rest pad. And although the pad inflates to a beefy 4 inches thick, it still can be packed into a compact roll. Plus, the innovative Pump Sack allows for quick, sanitary inflation and can be used as a camp chair when the pad is stuffed inside.

    • Three-layer design includes a NeoAir mattress, foam top layer, and a microfleece shell
    • NeoAir technology uses a heat-reflective layer to recycle body heat and conserve warmth
    • Open-cell foam top layer contours to the shape of your body for additional comfort and warmth
    • Microfleece shell is soft against skin and machine washable
    • Integrated compression straps allow you to roll the mattress up for compact storage(18.5 inch by 10 inch rolled dimension)
    • Included Pump Sack allows you to inflate the mattress without breathing moist, bacteria-laden air into it
    • Pump sack can also be used as a stuff sack or camp seat
    • Includes repair kit
    • Item #CAS0791

    Finally Slept Well Outside

I don't normally sleep well when I go camping but this pad made all the difference! The combo of air and foam makes for a really comfortable bed. It packs up smaller than the luxury mat from ThermaRest so it's easy to travel with.

      Awesome pad

      • Familiarity:I've used it several times

These truly are great pads. The combination of air mattress and foam pad makes for a very comfy rest. The built-in pump sack is sufficient to inflate it in not much time. We've used them 4 times so far and all is well, and I really have no doubt they are going to last for years to come. They are built quite well and Therm-a-Rest has a great reputation for quality. They are a great investment, not only for camping trips but for home guests and sleepovers as well.

      Best sleep pad ever!!!!

      • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This is by far the most comfortable sleep pad I've ever slept on. It's as comfortable as my bed at home. I was really surprised when I inflated it as to how quiet it is to sleep on compared to other inflated mattresses I have used. This air mattress reins supreme!!! Nothing on the market even close!!!

      AMAZING for the World Race

I am going on an 11 month mission trip in a couple months and have done a lot of research of what I should get. I am very particular about where I sleep and love my comfortable mattress at home. I tested it out and LOVED IT! I didn't even fully blow it up and was still super comfortable. I would recommend this is anyone! christinaschloot.theworldrace.org

        Best camping night sleep!

        • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This sleeping pad is almost worth throwing away your mattress and putting it in your bedroom! It is the perfect car camping sleeping pad. It is a bit of work to get inflated, but once you do, you are going to love it! Definitely worth the money if you are going to be car camping for any period of time.

        Best camping night sleep!

        Ultimate Deluxe

        • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I use this for super deluxe car camping and I also use it for an extra guest bed because it's that comfortable. It does take some blowing up, it's true. But it's worth it. Not light or small, super deluxe for sleeping on :) Unlike other blow-up pads, it's very well protected inside the fleece cover and is much less vulnerable to those inevitable pinholes which is also a good feature.

        Gamechanger

        • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Have been able to extend camping trips due to this pad preventing back/ shoulder pain. Only pad I have ever been able to side sleep on. Only drawback is it takes a while to inflate via the included bag. Might break down and get the battery powered pump. Worth the $. Car camping only as it is huge even rolled up.

        This is the benchmark

Although I have not tried the raised beds - as far as mats go this is the best by a country mile - big, wide, soft, durable - nothing else I have tried comes close - but it is big and really only suitable for car camping for my mind.

          Unanswered Question

I am familiar with NeoAir pads. But I'm wondering if the Dream makes the same crinkly sound that the other NeoAirs make when you move on them? or does the foam and shell muffle the sound? I'm a light sleeper so the noise keeps me up at night.

what size compression stuff sack would this fit in?

          Hey DB,

Depends on the brand of stuff stack you are looking at. Check the tech specs on the stuff sack you are looking at and compare them with the rolled size of 18.5"x10"

For example you would want a 35L in this bag http://www.backcountry.com/outdoor-research-durable-stuff-sack

Can you use the internal NeoAir mattress by itself? I'm just thinking it would be great to use the whole thing for car camping but also be able to use the internal bad on its own for backpacking.

          Hey,

          Straight from MSR's customer support-

It's called the DreamTime mattress, which is basically the NeoAir Camper mattress with an extra layer of reflective, aluminized material to take the R-value of the mattress only up from 2.2 to 2.8. The thickness is 3".

Here's the link to the Camper for comparison:

Hey Time2Emit, thanks for the question.

After a search on the Therm-a-Rest website, it appears that the mattress used in this setup just utilizes the NeoAir technology, it isn't actually using one of the other NeoAir models. I could be wrong here, but the detail picture doesn't match any of the other NeoAir models, (see the photo) and Phil's excellent information above!

I have the original DreamTime therm-o-rest....does this new generation self inflate or does it stay flaccid until you actually pump it up. I like to just open the valve and let it sit, then give it a couple puffs and close the valve. So simple. Its SO comfortable for car-camping--been sleeping in one for a year now! I just want the 30" size and the original is discontinued or whatever...
