Why We Like The LuxuryLite Mesh Cot
One of our greatest joys in the summer months is the simplicity of camping trips. With hardly any gear required, it's hard to beat spending time outside with your closest companions. However, waking up in a sweltering tent can be very uncomfortable.
Luckily for us, Therm-a-Rest offers the LuxuryLite Mesh Cot as a solution by separating you from the ground with highly ventilated materials. Therm-a-Rest's patented BowFrame design uses close-to-the-ground feet and sturdy aluminum bars that you'll never feel thanks to the stretch-free mesh fabric. This cot breaks down to fit in an extremely compact carry bag for car camping trips or even bicycle tours.

Mesh cot
I’m significantly under the weight limit for the cot. I tried the cot at home and bottomed the cot out laying on my side. Had to return it. It would be nice if the cot weight limits listed were realistic.

Almost impossible to put together
The mesh cot is assembled by bending the "legs" and inserting them into the "bed rails" of the cot. The legs are so stiff, it is like trying to bend a solid metal rod. My husband, who is hella strong, broke into a sweat getting these to bend into position. So how am I, a 115 lb woman, going to assemble these on my own? Is there some trick? Once assembled, the cot is fantastic - very comfortable sleeping.

I bought this cot because I have back problems and camping has become a sleepless endeavor. Unfortunately, the poles are so tight I cannot assemble the cot without further injuring my back. I have a very strong upper body, but at 115lbs it was nearly impossible to get the double poles in. Not worth the back strain. I will note that my dad has this cot and he loves it, so it might work for you if you’re big and strong.

Extra comfort on the river
This has been great for the many over night rafting trips we have done already this year.

Great for Tipi tent camping
Never used a cot in the past that was real packable. This product was amazing on several rafting camping trips and made a difference while winter camping.

Comfortable & light but poor setup

The cot was very light weight and comfortable. The legs and poles that spread the cot are so very tight. If you are not very careful where the feet attach to the long side poles they can catch on the fabrics and tear it. Mine tore on the very first use. Returned after one use.

Solid cot but difficult to assemble and disassemble
The cot is comfortable and certainly small when disassembled. My main complaint is the strength required to assemble and disassemble the bottom frame pieces. I get the need for the extreme tension required to hold up the cot and have it accommodate the weight it can, but as a woman, it was very difficult for me to do on my own. I did figure out a way to brace the cot under my feet to accomplish the task, but it was CHALLENGING. Ladies, please just be aware of this issue.

Love it love it love it. Very comfortable. Easy to pack and very light weight. When you insert shorter cross frame to long main frame PROPERLY, it will last long many years. I have 4 sets XL, 4 days family camping twice a year. Since I bought in 2016, still in good shape.

I've slept on this cot a few times and it's a serviceable option. Once you're familiar with the setup process, it doesn't take too long to assemble, but there's a decent chance of snagging or tearing the mesh while inserting the legs (as other reviewers have stated). The last time I slept on this cot it was on a lightly rocky surface and the cot feet abraded on my tent floor and left large white scuffs. In the future I'm going to put a blanket down on the tent floor before assembling this. I've seen other people mention tearing their tent floor with this cot, and I can definitely see how that would happen. The mesh is light and has great airflow, I felt nice and cool even on a hot night. I have a three person tent, and I'm able to assemble this cot outside of the tent and then just toss it in. This isn't a top-of-the-line item by any means but if you're on a budget it's a good cot.
