Sleepy time in the backcountry never felt so nice.

Rest your tired head on the Therm-a-rest Down Pillow for the utmost sleep comfort in the backcountry. This down-stuffed pillow compresses to fit in the corner of your pack and is way more comfortable than your lumpy, stinky fleece for resting your eyes while camping.

Order the L at least

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I ordered a Large and it still seemed a little small.. a plus? It packs small! and was perfect for my kayak camping- we will see about for hiking. It is a down pillow so open it up earlier as it takes some time to fluff out. Would recommend if you were looking for a lightweight smallish packable pillow. Don't buy this pillow though if your expecting it to feel like your at home.. it gets flat.

A Better Night's Sleep

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a decent pillow. I bought the medium and as others have mentioned, it's a little small, and a little flat. I found that tucking it in my sleeping bag hood folded in half did the trick. It packs down small enough and doesn't weigh much. Nice addition to my camping setup, and much better than the old synthetic fill pillow I had.

Next time I would get the L

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought the Medium, without anything in it it is very flat. The down is nice, packs small and is light. But the medium doesn't allow for much room to stuff something inside. I tried a T shirt but that was very hard. In the end I pulled the cord and that made the pillow like a ball shape, that way I had a soft but rather small pillow to use.
The fabric is very nice though.

Pretty Flat

If I could, it would get 3.5 stars- the down is great and super comfortable, and it does pack up pretty well and isn't super heavy. However, the thing is just flat- if you're looking for a fluffy pillow you have to sleep with it basically wrapped up with the drawstring tight. Not the worst pillow I've tried, but I'm definitely leaning towards something that has some sort of inflation to keep your head propped up.

Very Light.Very Soft. Small is 3.0oz

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This pillow is soft and small. It will need something to place on the inside for comfort or support. I use a small klymit Cush Seat to fold and place on the inside. It will pack inside your sleeping bag stuff sack.

NOTE: The cord has rubbed through on some of the sides from tightening around things. But they do have a lifetime guarantee.

    Very light, very flat

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This pillow packs super small but it doesn't work to well on it's own - it just goes flat when you use it. I wrapped my down jacket around it and that seemed to do the trick to make it at all comfortable. I wouldn't say it's a very versatile piece so for UL camping I would just use the down jacket on it's own and leave this at home.

    It works

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It will get the job done if you pair it with a dry bag of clothes or something. it is a little small and does not pack up as nicely as others do. I use it with other camp pillows when I am just car camping but I am looking for a new pillow for backpacking. So if you are just camping it will work with help but its comfort to space ratio is pretty low.

    Nice supplement to air pillow

I saw a large in the store and liked it, but wasn't sure how well it would keep it's loft and so didn't buy it. I ended up buying a small from Backcountry. By itself this pillow goes flat as a pancake. But it wraps perfectly around my Exped Air pillow and makes for the most comfortable pillow setup I've ever had in the woods.

      Hoody turned plush down pillow

Sweet product if you want a better place to rest your head backpacking. Turns a pair of pants or sweater into a nice pillow. Doesn't compare to a real pillow... So, if you're a car camper, just bring your own from the guest bed. But for backpacking, if you can spare the space in your pack.. it's pretty plush!
