It's just rain; it should be fun.

When it rains, you envision mud, colds, and wet clothes, but when your little adventurer sees the rain, he just sees fun in his future. Let him have his fun and stay dry too in the Boys' Zipline Rain Jacket from The North Face. The high-tech HyVent layer blocks moisture and keeps him dry while the articulated hood protects his head and won't restrict his movement. Fully sealed seams mean water can't sneak in through the stitching, and elastic cuffs holds back wind and rain that might try to blow into his sleeves.

Great Jacket and Price

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:Runs small

Bought this specifically for rain but it can wore any time. Had my son wear it on a windy day and he said he was hot. The North Face is a great product. My son is a big 7 and got him a medium.

Great Purchase

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:Runs small
  • Height: 4'10"
    Weight: 80 lbs
    Size Purchased: large

I bought one for my 12 year old daughter, she is petite - I bought a large and it fits great! She loves it, very functional and stylish too.

Good Jacket for kids

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

We ordered this jacket in the XXS (5) for our 3 year old son that is currently in 4T. We did this since we ordered him the Thermoball in 4T last winter when he was a 3T and we realized it was a perfect fit at the end of the season. This jacket is large on him, but we roll up the sleeves and he is fine. The body doesn't look to big and the length is still okay. He is a average waist size, tends to outgrown length of pants before the waist.

My son wears this all the time, he loves it. he is hard on clothes and it is holding up well. size is true

Sizing Off

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
  • Fit:Runs small

I just received this in size M (10-12) for my average sized 9 year old boy. Held it up to his too-small size 7-8 Columbia jacket, and it is the same exact size. Nice jacket, but it seems to run very small. Also super bummed that I have to pay shipping to return the item. I guess I'm getting spoiled by other online retailers who offer free return shipping.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

This jacket is just what we wanted. We live in Washington State, so with the rain and cool mornings, he wears it over his sweatshirt it T-shirt. He is just growing into the size 10-12 and this fit awesome without looking too big. I especially like the attached hood. It seems like when the good comes off, we lose it. He will wear it year round with it being a shell type jacket. I have now ordered another one for my daughter in the light green size 14-16. I would definitely recommend this jacket!

I have tried a northface girls' rain jacket(resolve reflective one) size M and it did fit me perfectly. Would this zipline boys' jacket size m work for me? If not so, what size should I get? What's the difference between northface girls jacket and boys jacket in terms of size? (Is the shoulder wider in a boys'?)

If you can fit a girls M than you can fit the boys M. I have both a boys and girls in a small and the boys looks a little bigger.

Works great...for a Woman too!

Bought this for a trip to Nicaragua during rainy season and it was fantastic. I bought a boys XL and usually wear a ladies sm or medium. Fit great, I only wish the pockets could zipper closed

Good Little Jacket, but don't stand too close to open flame

Sizing is a little small was my first impression, agree that the material is the appropriate weight for the application, used up in the Portland area and on the Oregon coast for a week - kept my 12 yr old son very dry & comfortable. Wicked rain no problem, good hood.

Couple improvements I could see or things to consider before I'd purchase again:
      - Hand Pockets on the outside of the jacket do not have a zipper, which would be more ideal for a Rain Jacket meant to keep you (and your stuff in pockets) dry.
      - Jacket is a bit on the short side length wise, fit is good around the torso for a thinner kid, but could be a bit longer for coverage.

** Also, first actual camping outing we did this past week my son was standing too close our campstove(as 12 yr old boys will do) and the fabric on the front totally melted! Affected size was about the size of a fist which was inside his pockets at the time. It didn't create a hold in the fabric but it's noticeably melted and crinkled now at that spot.

He likes the jacket and wore it around camp and during the day when it wasn't raining, looks good on, if not melted seems like it would be quite durable.

Hi the Zipline is mesh lined and the Resolve is nylon lined, so the resolve will be a little warmer then the Zipline...

      Not Too Shabby

The jacket is in the perfect condition, exaclty the material I was expecting, light weight great for hikes or just good stolls on windy days.

The only disappointment I found was that it doesn't have a NorthFace logo on the back like all the other NorthFace things. Maybe I'm just picky.

Our son has a fleece coat that can snap into an outer shell. Is this coat eqipped with these buttons so that we could connect the two coats?
If it isn't - which shell should we look for?

This coat is not equipped to snap a fleece into the shell. The only boys jacket that The North Face makes with this feathers is the Vortex Shell Jacket. Hope that helps.
