Here's what others have to say...

fantastic

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

I'm 5'10" with a 31'' inseam. These pants are exactly what I wanted: durable, roomy GoreTex pants with a full zip, suspenders that you can keep up while using the ladies', in a fun color. They've been great pants in any condition... sleet, powder, sun. Some say they run large but I feel they're more of a relaxed fit and not necessarily "large". Suspenders are great, I love having a relaxed pant that stays in place!

Cons: They do run a little large in the waist for me but the velcro tabs take care of any butt gap. The leg opening is a little narrow so I have to pull them down over my boots more than I'd like. The snow gaiter tends to unzip/unsnap. I have a really long torso so the suspenders are on the short side but I always have issues with torso length.

A reinforced knee would make these perfect.

great pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

These pants are great. I actually like that they run a little big because I ski with a knee brace. They fit perfectly over it.

Love them

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Love these pants!! Skied in them last weekend in the rain for 4 hours and the held up just fine! My only complaint is that the fly zipper is not waterproof (definitely had wet long johns)!!! It is just a regular zipper not like the other ones on the pants that are waterproof! Other wise awesome!

Great ski pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

These pants have a flattering fit without feeling too tight. There is still plenty of room for layers on cold days, but the gore text seems to really keep the cold air out. I did order one size smaller than I normally would, based on other reviews. My normal size (s) would have been too baggy in the leg and loose in the waist. They are not too long, either. I am 5'8" and I feel they are a perfect length (still allow me to adjust the buckles on my ski boots). They would probably look a little odd with snowboard boots, however.

Great pants, crazy sizing

  • Fit: Runs large

These pants are really nice, nicest I've had, but the sizing is really weird. I first ordered a medium, which should have fit (I'm 5'6" about 120lbs) just a little loose, but they were literally falling off; I couldn't even tighten then with the velco adjusts enough. Then I switched for a small - still too big but only just. I actually had to get an XS, which is NOT my size, and those are just a bit tighter than I'd like, but fit the best of the three. What's up, North Face?

That said, Backcountry was AWESOME with the exchanges.
