Most bang for your buck - Warm!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I wore this with a t-shirt underneath in 45 degree Colorado weather, and had no complaints! The wind-wall is no joke, its a comfortable jacket for inside and outside, while still keeping the cold wind out. If I'm expecting to be somewhere very cold, I have worn a hoodie underneath, and that's just right for me. Runs true to size, cute feminine fit, and still enough room in the arms for a hoodie if you wear one with it.

LOVE my winter wear!

Oh my! I ordered this jacket after seeing a co-worker's beautiful jacket and hearing how warm and cozy she is. I work in an unheated courthouse due to budget cuts and am always freezing... I needed something light that I could wear everywhere, something that wasn't as bulky as a coat. Also I work with a humane society and I needed something that dog hair didn't stick to... I'm happy to announce that this jacket was perfect for my lifestyle! I'm a NorthFace convert now. We've had a windy, cold March and I've been wearing it and have felt so cozy. I told a friend I felt like Linus and his blanket. Kudos to Backcountry for helping me out when I messed up my order. I got the jacket quickly with no problems.

Wasn't sure if I would like this jacket when I opened the pkg. It seemed a little stiff. However, once on, it was SO comfortable and the sizing couldn't be more perfect. I am 5'5", 135 lbs., 36C bust with a nice little gut from 3 babies. Size Large was just roomy enough to not look too big but to make me feel comfortable without it being too tight. I think I might even be able to wear a sweatshirt underneath if need be. I wore it shopping and was sweating by the time I was done so this is a VERY warm jacket. I also ordered in the Weimaraner Brown and LOVED the color. A nice change from black or dark brown. Plus it was only $71.97!!! 5 stars!

Just ok

Was excited about this jacket when I purchased it. I only wore it a few times and washed it once and the ends of the sleeves is already fraying. Kind of annoying since I don't expect sub par quality from north face.

Read for insight on sizing/ Great Jacket

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Blocks the wind walking on campus for sure. I'm 5'5, 130 lbs, 36c cup. I ordered a medium. My arms are very long, and the sleeve length is perfect. I suggest if you are around my size and want a looser fit, to get a large. This is not too snug, but I couldn't wear something thick, like a hoodie under it, only thin shirts. It also doesn't seem very long on my torso- which could be because of my breast size- but factor that in when ordering for sure. My other north face is a mens small, so I thought they would be about the same- this is incorrect... as far as this jacket goes- a mens small is a ladies large. I got the kodiac blue- and it's true to the color that you see online- really pretty!!

Added picture- so you can view the length... please ignore my filthy mirror!
Despite sizing issues... This thing is AWESOME!!! BUY IT!!

The North Face / Windwall 1 Fleece Jacke

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The North Face is a light weight soft jacket that keeps you warm and it's stylish.

i need sizing help! i am 5'6, 115-120 lbs....

i need sizing help! i am 5'6, 115-120 lbs. i am either getting a S or XS. i have a short torso so length isnt a problem i just dont want it to be baggy but imight want to be able to wear a layer under it sometimes?

Best Answer Responded on

You should get the a Small. My daughter is 16 yrs. old 4'11, 91 lbs. and she has the XS and it fits well she can even layer and still have room. With your height being 5'6 a Small would give you room to layer and this jacket is true to size.

My girlfriend is 5'2", 100 lbs. Would a xs be too small? Or would small size be better. She wears a 00 dress size if that helps.

Blocks wind and layers nicely

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this fleece for hiking in the no-so-cold but sometimes windy winter weather in central TX. It definitely blocks the wind and my normal XS size was roomy enough for wearing a long sleeve shirt and a zip-up wool sweater without feeling constricted. The neck is a bit high and stiff, but I am short (5'2", 104 lbs). It did get softer after a couple wears, so I am happy about that. The fabric is stiffer that a regular fleece, but I actually like the added structure since I have other floppy fleeces for running, etc. I also found the sleeves a bit long, but again, I am short, so I am used to that, and they fold over or under nicely.

It's warm and it works

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is my 3rd North Face fleece jacket. It runs ever so slightly bigger than my other two, but I don't think enough to get a size smaller. Sleeves also seem a tad too long, but not a problem. Pockets are great, it does feel warm and comfortable. I wish it had a third chest pocket. Overall I'm very happy with it and will wait to see how the material holds up.
