I just couldn't like this jacket. First, the material felt a little cheap to me. Second, the price for this garment was too high for what you're getting. And third, I prefer to have installation in the arm areas, due to the fact that they get cold, too.

If you're in need of a lightweight insulating layer, this is the jacket for you. It works great underneath a hardshell in nasty weather. Windproof sleeves allow this to double as an outer layer or a belay jacket on those clear and cold windy days. The fit is good, not super athletic, but there isn't any loose material flapping around. The hood is a nice addition and fits well under a climbing helmet.

This jacket is my go to insurance for multi pitch climbs in spring and fall conditions where I climb in a poly or fleece layer and then whip this baby out for belaying. The Verto Micro really is the perfect marriage of windbreaker, and down, and is incredibly warm for how light it is. It stuffs into it's own pocket so when I'm climbing I clip it to my harness and forget it is there, and that pertex fabric is crazy durable for how light it is. This is a genuinely innovative and useful hybrid piece of kit for anyone who needs ultra light insurance agains the wind and cold.
