Verdi II Down Jacket - Men's

The North Face added a RECCO avalanche rescue reflector to its Men's Verdi II Jacket to help out when you get in a tight, undersnow, in-bounds bind on that a-little-too-epic powder day. Underarm zips help you stay cool hiking the ridge, and a detachable powder skirt with pant-a-locks keep the snow from getting where it doesn't belong. A clear pass pocket makes getting on the lifts effortless, and 600-fill down keeps you warm on your way up.

Bottom Line: Challenge Mother Nature head-on.

So Warm.

By:

Amazing coat. Has amazing warmth. Even on the coldest days, I just wear a t-shirt underneath, and use the pitzips to control my temp. Great fabric strength, as some tree limbs have tried to tackle me and rip the coat with no avail.

Perfect!

By:
November 28, 2008

I work in a very cold region of Alaska. I bought this jacket to wear both on the job and for recreation it performs perfectly; with or without wool or fleece underneath. I can stand stationary out in the cold and keep warm or open the vents if I go hiking. There's ample space to keep a balaclava, watchman's cap, goggles, badges, and a whole slew of other gear in the pockets. I couldn't ask for much more.

I would say the medium. I'm 6'4" and I wear the medium, but I'm not going for the super baggy look. The arm length is great for me, as well as the waist length, but I guess it depends on your fit preference i.e. baggy v. more baggy

Rad!

By:
November 13, 2008

This jacket rocks. I got it in the blue color. Definitely the warmest jacket I have ever owned and is perfect for the arctic days at the resort. It matches up perfectly with the Park Cargo pant. The jacket fits large enough for laying and vents really well. The pockets are in the right places with easy access. Definitely has a progressive freestyle-like fit.

Great Jacket

By:
February 4, 2009

Great jacket, very nice and warm inside. The sleeping-bag feeling of the goose down is so warm, even in the hood. The pocket placement is perfect as well. Overall "A" jacket.

I have this jacket and where it all the time in Utah where it typically doesn't get super cold. It is amazing the range of comfort that it has with just a single thin layer under it. Much more comfortable than synthetic insulation pieces that I have worn.

Great coat. Super light weight/mover friendly. It does get very warm, so even on the coldest days I only wear a t-shirt under it. Still, on any sidestep or bootpacks you heat up pretty quick even with the pitzips open.

overall a good buy

By:
March 18, 2009

The snow skirt was not removable as was advertised.
This feature kept the jacket too close for my likes.
But the classic good material, the waterproof feature, the inner lining, the warmth and the overall
quality of the jacket is unbeatable, period.
Backcountry's service is as professional.

Can't move in it

By:
January 26, 2009

The coat is warm but you just can't move. It has a thousand pockets but you can't get to them because you can't move. Finally, it isn't very good looking. I bought the Mountain Hardware Sub Zero Parka. The MHW is significantly more comfortable and it feels like it's floating on you.

best down jacket available.

By:
March 5, 2009

this jacket is amazing and feels indestructable.. finally north face made a totally waterproof down jacket. hyvent material is just as good as gortex and way more affordable. I used one of my hyvent north face ski jacket shells to hike in a torential downpoor for 10 hours on mount washington and stayed completely dry. This jacket is defintelty the most warm and comfortable jacket ive ever own. And I admit to being a jacketaholic. night skiing with the girlfriend in 5 degree weather is now a pleasure. If your skiing hard throughout the day or hittin the bumbs, expect to sweat alittle even with the pit zips open. worth it though when taking the freezing chairlift ride back up. never really need more than a t-shirt for layering. features and quality of materials and make is the best there is.

I live in toronto, Canada and was wondering about the Aster Blue North Face Verdi II jacket - I need it in medium and wondered if you shipped into Canada?

Nope sorry man. They can't ship North Face to Canada. See if you can find someone you know that lives in the US, have them ship it to them, and then your friend can ship it to you.

Second Skin

By:
February 23, 2009

At first the jacket is a bit restrictive in movement, but after a few uses it breaks in. I've used it in -10 degrees all the way up to skiing in 45 degree mid-spring conditions. So comfortable it's like wearing a waterproof down sleeping bag. I've been able to stay the same temp in all conditions due to the pit zips. Surprisingly water resistant also. The vast array of pockets seems like overkill at first but you find yourself using most of them. All in all, I won't ski in anything else unless it's a torrential downpour.
