Verdi Down Jacket - Men's

Your dad says that down jackets don’t perform well on the slopes—few down jackets are waterproof (because down requires highly-breathable fabrics) and once down gets wet, it’s about as useful as an ice cube at keeping you warm. But because The North Face’s Verdi Down Jacket shell is made of waterproof breathable HyVent fabric, it’s one down jacket that’s taking the slopes by storm—and simultaneously telling your dad he should get with the times.

  • 600-Fill down provides warm loft, rebounds well from repeated compressions, and has a warmth-to-weight ratio that surpasses any synthetic insulating material
  • Outer shell made with waterproof and breathable HyVent 2L fabric to help shed precipitation and keep the down insulation from clumping up
  • Insulated hood keeps you protected in a storm and adjusts to fit the shape of your head
  • Powder skirt, adjustable hem, adjustable cuffs, and pant-a-locks jacket-pant connection system help keep snow from sneaking through the backdoor and into your dry and warm party
  • Recco avalanche rescue reflector embedded in jacket

Bottom Line: Get down with the down.

You should be pretty on point with a medium. Make sure to check out the size chart using the link below the select options menu.

Lots of great features...

I really love most everything about this jacket, its dual zipper system (once you have it zipped you can unzip it from the bottom to give you added mobility), all the pockets, the pit vents, goggle wipe, the media ports, RECCO device, and the fact that it is waterproof with a nice protective hood and 600 fill down is fantastic... you really can't ask for more in a skiing/snowboarding jacket... My only issue with it, and it may be b/c i'm female, but it seems to have go go gadget arms... i've had to tuck 5-6 inches of the sleeve up under each side and hem it cause the arms were so long on me, and i don't have short arms! I've never run into this problem before and i have a few other North Face jackets...But overall I highly recommend this jacket, its super fuctional with high mobility!

Verdi "Down" for a Mt. Baldy Hike?

By:
December 7, 2010

Stayin' warm and yet not afraid to over-heat hiking a Baldy because of the heat dumping oversized pit zips built into the Verdi Down Jacket.

Measure around your chest at it's fullest point. Small is 38 inches, Medium 41 inches, Large 44 inches, and XL 47 inches. Keep in mine it's probably cut pretty full considering it's designed to be worn over other layers.

Large. XL will be too big/long. I'm the same height/weight as you and I'm in between the med/large size.

Verdi Down is truly "down" to shred.

By:
December 7, 2010

I have NEVER had a "puffy" jacket that I enjoyed snowboarding in..... Until this jacket! The burly Hyvent 2L shell material not only keeps the snow from penetrating your down filled barrier, but is virtually tear, rip and puncture proof. While out on my snowboard "powder-hounding" around, I accidentally blasted my way right into a gigantic dead Blue Spruce last week. The noise of my Jacket snagging on all of the dead and breaking tree branches had me thinking that I had just ruined my new favorite cold-weather jacket.... turns out, damn thing didn't even take a scratch. No punctures in the outer material left me baffled. Props to The North Face for producing a down jacket that can take a beating and actually function properly when it comes to waterproofing and ventilation. The extra large pit zips dump heat fast enough to keep you cool if you get your body temp up high after shredding a long fast line or digging yourself out of dead tree well for 20 minutes :-)AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME Jacket.
