Lose the bulkiness of a full-blown backpacking boot and beef up a day hiker, and you're left with The North Face Women's Verbera Lightpacker GTX Boot. This lightweight, fully featured boot helps you carry medium loads through technical terrain. Italian craftsmanship, full weatherproofing, a grippy vibram sole, and a medium-volume last ensure that this boot can deliver through foul weather or brutal, mountainous ascents.

  • Gore-Tex waterproof breathable membrane protects your feet from moisture outside (foul, wet weather) and allows sweaty moisture inside your boots, to escape to the outside
  • Boot last has a medium-volume shape, it's narrower in the heel and achilles for control, and it features a roomier forefoot and tapered toebox to accommodate thicker hiking socks and swollen toes
  • Ventilation from ballistic textile helps keep your feet cool, and the tough synthetic and leather shrug off sharp rocks and trail hazards
  • Northotic Pro+ footbed uses EVA for durability, a cradle-shaped heel for control and gel for cushioning in the heel, and an OrthoLite forefoot for padding
  • Cradle heel shape and SR2 insole board provide support for carrying heavy loads but still allow for enough response so you can feel the trail below your feet
  • Vibram outsole has durable, reliable build and offers supreme traction on everything from wet, loamy trails to loose, rocky desert terrain
  • Stainless steel eyelets and locking instep eyelets keep your laces locked in place

They're great...so far.

I love these boots. They seem tough and durable but not too bulky. I haven't taken them out to get a real test of them yet but they are comfortable so far. I do agree they seem a bit narrow but its not a problem for me really.

Really narrow boots

These boots seem to be well made. I usually wear a 8.5 but after trying an 8.5 I tried a 9. No luck. They run really narrow. I tried an 9.5 and they seem ok size wise. The sole is very stiff and great on rocks but after a couple of days of tough hikes the upper seems too soft for the stiff sole. The leather is pretty soft and were it bends on the ball of my foot it digs in. I have a narrow foot but these boots were really narrow. They do have a nice insole.
