Cowhide leather outers are treated with 3M Scotchgard waterproof treatment to ensure that water won't be bothering you. 60-gram Heatseeker synthetic insulation is added to the back of the hands to help ward off the screaming barfies, though as any ice climber knows, sometimes that's fairly unavoidable. A brushed tricot liner makes these guys extremely comfortable, and the hook-and-loop wrist closure helps you secure a snug fit.
