Be careful not to snag these!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
First off, I do love these shirts - I own the tshirt in several colors, as well as the tank. I typically have worn them to work out at the gym, but one day wore it to white water raft in, since they dry so quickly! Ever since then I haven't been able to get the smell of the river out - even after several washes, I feel like I just can't get rid of it! I also made the mistake of wearing one of these backpacking, but the material is VERY sensitive, and the straps on my backpack snagged part of the shirt. I also notice that they snag if you lean up against something - they are much more sensitive and susceptible to snagging than any of my other synthetic shirts. I'd stick with these for the gym and other non-contact sports only!
Hey ladies, I am wondering what size I...
Hey ladies, I am wondering what size I should purchase in this t-shirt. I recently bought one of the North Face burn-out cotton tees and it was much larger and longer than I had hoped for. I am a 38D and have broad shoulders; however, I am only 5'4" and have a very short torso. The burn-out tee was an XL, but like I said, just too big. Do you think I should go with an XL or L for the Velocitee Crew? I know these types of shirts with this material often tend to be smaller, so I'm trying to make sure I'm ordering the right one. (I hate having extra long shirts, but I also can't stand having a shirt stretched tight across my Grand Tetons!!) Let me know. Thanks so much!!
For sizing questions like this, sometimes it's best to order both sizes and we can help you out with getting the size that doesn't work returned. I suggest hopping on our LiveChat or giving us a call and a Gearhead can help you out to ensure you get the correct size.
Hi Kat! I wear these shirts all the time. I am 5'7", very short torso, 36dd.. these shirts, which I order in a large, fit comfortably across my chest, form fit, not skin tight, and fall right at my hip bone. sometimes I wish they were 1" longer as it would ride better under my hipbelt on my pack. that is however a personal preference. I think even in a xl to perhaps accommodate you 38" bust measurement, you would not have a problem with the length being annoying long. .I love these shirts and even multitask them under a blazer in a pinch. they weigh 1oz.! pack to nothing, don't wrinkle, dry in a flash and wear like iron! my pack has made a few pulls on some, to be expected, but they never rip and the seams do not fail.. worth every penny! hope you love them too! estells
Hi Kat, I'm 5'8 and am a 38DD. I have this shirt in a Large and it fits comfortably around the bust, but I find it a bit short. It is formfitting but not skin tight. I plan to buy others but I think I would prefer and XL just to get the shirt a bit longer. Hope this helps!
My favorite shirt!
This is the second one of these that I have purchased and I highly recommend them. They are light, cool, not clingy, not real fitted but not baggy and true to size. I have the white and the blue, both wonderful, no complaints.
I'm buying this as a gift... does anyone...
I'm buying this as a gift... does anyone know if the sizing coordinates with similar Patagonia shirts? I know she wears an XL in Patagonia. Thanks!
They run about the same, although I'd say that Patagonia's tend to be a little larger in the chest/bust for the shirt that is closest to this one. Strangely, I've found that Patagonia cotton basic logo tees run quite small. I've had size S from Patagonia altered around the neckline due to risk of "wardrobe malfunction" and over exposure. The North Face fit perfectly with room to move, but not too loose.
came back to buy more
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
They are just as soft and quick-drying as everyone says they are. I've used them hiking and at the gym. They are a bit of a looser fit, but true to the NF sizing.
LOOOVE THESE SHIRTS!
- Gender: Female
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
I long distance hike and love these T's! They are super comfy, wick sweat like a sponge, dry quickly and wear like iron. What more do you need?? Well I also use them as first layer in the winter and they work well too! In addition at the weight of 2oz!!!!!! you can even bring an extra to sleep in and not pay dearly with added weight. I own 6 and love them. I also put on with jeans or dressy pant, layer with a cardi or blazer and look great. A great piece of clothing!
Love this shirt. Great for traveling. Keep you sweat free and comfortable. Plus the colors are fantastic.
Great Running T
Bought two of these as a gift for my sister, she loves them! They fit true to size and are perfect for running!
Love this shirt so much on my recent hike that I am ordering another one :)
Light and breezy
I love to run in this shirt because it doesn't weigh me down or stick to me if I get sweaty.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it's not really a fitted shirt. It's more of a loose fit.
Great shirt..VERY LIGHT
These shirts are great for running, climbing, hiking, gym..also make a warm base layer..dry quick. I have 2, and should order 4 more!
I love this shirt! @ 2oz!!! they don't come much lighter ... the fit is spot on and they dry in minutes! buy 6 ! you won't regret it!! and they feel great too, soft and comfy enough to sleep in..
Great shirt for a hike
I wore this shirt for 6.7 mile hike up to Mt. Leconte. It was a hotter than usual day. The shirt was light weight and not clingy even in the heat. I now wear the shirt for everyday wear, looks great with shorts.
The North Face Velocitee Crew - Short-Sleeve - Women's.
