The North Face Men's Velocitee Short-Sleeve Crew—a Flight Series T-shirt that steps up the speed. The North Face's Velocitee jersey material has an airy feel and wicks moisture away from your skin, making this tee ideal for hot days or layering next to your skin. Set-in sleeves feel comfortable when you wear a pack, and a drop-tail hem provides overage when you ride some single track.

Bottom Line: Put the pedal to the metal.

Awesome Shirt!

By:
March 16, 2009

I wear this shirt when exercising, hiking, or just out and about around town. It keeps me cool when the sun is out and is a great layer for keeping warm at night. I need to get more of these sweet shirts!

This shirt is a must for warm weather.

By:
September 22, 2009

Living in the desert of Southern Nevada, walking, even at 9pm, is a sweaty experience! My Cairn terrier demands a walk every day. This shirt is my absolute favorite for those nighly walks in ninety degree heat. It is light, comfortable and the cooling effect is noticeable immediately if there is a breeze, and even if there isn't, the moment you start moving the cooling effect begins. I've tried other brands of "stay-dry" shirts, but the North Face is the definite winner.

Is this fitted? I hate shirts with more than an inch or two

Is this fitted? I hate shirts with more than an inch or two of slack around the waist. I'm 6'2 @ 170 and usually wear a medium in very athletic/fitted shirts, sometimes have to downsize to small for semi-fitted shirts. What's the story with the Velocitee?

I'll never wear cotton for any sweating activity again

By:
September 19, 2009

Before purchasing two of these shirts, I read the reviews. I laughed at hotswimmer's claim that he owns 10 of these. After wearing them for a month, I want more. Probably not 10, since they can be worn a few times without smelling too bad. I love these shirts. My only problem is that my cat jumped on me and scratched the shirt. It didn't seem to damage the fabric, but the scratches are still visible after a couple washings.

Are the sleeves on this shirt tight to your arms, or are they

Are the sleeves on this shirt tight to your arms, or are they the flappy kind?

KInd of depends on the size of your arms and the width of your shoulders. But overall it is a standard/relaxed fitting shirt so the sleeves will not be tight.

Great temperature and humidity regulation, but STINKY

By:
September 18, 2009

Sweat keeps you cool because when water evaporates from a surface, it lowers the temperature of that surface. By drawing the sweat from your skin, these shirts increase the rate at which this process can happen, thereby making your natural heat regulation capabilities more effective. Thus, when you get a little warm, you sweat a little bit, the shirt amplifies the process and you cool down before you even know that you're sweating. When it's cool outside you stop sweating and then this shirt works like any other piece of clothing to keep you warm. In the words of Bill Nye, SCIENCE RULES.I especially love these shirts because they're low friction without being too slippery. Thus I can move around freely while rock climbing without feeling like I'm wearing a silk shirt from a 1980s disco. The only problem is that because this is a synthetic fiber, bacteria love it. Thus, you wear this while sweating and you instantly stink. The smell washes out easy enough, but if you like to get multiples wears out of a shirt before washing it, you should probably go with a wool-based or antimicrobial-treated shirt instead.

Sizing: I'm 6'1", 185 pounds and the medium is loose-fitting without being baggy.

Simply the lightest, silkiest, most comfortable T-shirt ever

By:
August 28, 2008

I love this shirt - I have 10 of them in a variety of colors. Incredibly soft, lightweight, and comfortable. Unparalleled as a running shirt or for other activities where you sweat a lot - the material is so light - it wicks away the sweat and is dry in no time at all. The weave is very dense, so the shirt is pretty opaque, even though the material is thin. It's a nice-looking T-shirt too, and wears just great over jeans and shorts. I even use them as undershirts a lot of the time. They're pretty rugged - I just toss them in the washer and dryer with everything else, and they do just fine. I've bought a lot of microfiber T-shirts over the years - Under Armour, Nike Dri Fit, Adidas Climalite and others. Nothing against them - they're all good shirts, but this is my hands-down favorite!

nice!!!!

By:
April 6, 2009

Bought this shirt bout a month ago and have worn it as a next to skin layer for wicking sweat (which works wonderfully) and wear it to work all the time because its just so comfortable and if.when I do work p a sweat then I'm not sportin the 'ball of sweat' look on my back. It's really cool and comfortable, works great as a next to skin layer, and not at all expensive for what it is given it dons the TNF logo and tag. Great buy IMO!

Great for just about anything.

By:
August 5, 2009

I take one of these hiking, running, biking, anything I'm doing outside. Thought I'd need a few, but one is definitely getting the job done. Comfortable, good-looking, flexible, and really lightweight, it always seems to dry in just an hour or two. An everything shirt, definitely worth your $20.

I usually wear a large in a regular cotton t-shirt....I'm mbout a 40 in chest...I ordered a large and it is plenty baggy, more so than my cotton t's, so I wouldn't call it 'running small'.

Gotta Have it!

By:
September 25, 2008

Awesome shirt! At first it feels too light and you'll think you made a mistake but give it a go. Incredibly warm due to the really tight knit of the fabric but also really breathable so it keeps you cool. Rolls up to softball sized so easy to pack. Must have piece of clothing--I ordered two more and some long sleeves as well.

Unbeatable price vs. quality - North Face Velocitee Crew simply does what is expected and will keep you dry throughout the seasons. On a personal note - shirt does run small; next one I get will be a large.

I suppose it's 100% polyester jersey knit. The inside tag does not specify anything other than where it was made. Doesn't even list washing and drying instructions, lol. It feels super silky and comfortable, tho.

Great Workout for Hot Weather

By:
May 28, 2009

I have been wearing this as a workout shirt in 100+ temps and it is great. Great wicking effect and quick drying. Held its color (ivy green) after several washes and no pulls/runs. Highly recommend.

Nice and Light Shirt

By:
July 30, 2009

Keep you nice and dry and are very light weight. Won't really notice the weight of an extra one in your pack. I do have a slight complaint about the quality though. I have two of these and ones stitching is starting to come out after only one wash. The other one I have has been worn and washed multiple times with no problems. I guess I just got the short end of the stick with the second one. Other wise would have been a 5 star rating.

By:
January 7, 2009

I have just about every color. At first I just got white. Its kinda see through but man it was so comfortable I just ended up getting 2 the next order, then got 3 the following. I use them for running, working out, and fishing. Everywhere I go ppl state that their a great looking shirt and look comfortable. Then they feel it and its game on. You would be a fool to waste your money and any other brand.

I bought this for my husand. He had never worn a real hiking type shirt before. He kept rolling his eyes at me when I told him he would be more comfortable in something other than a cotton t shirt to hike in. This shirt won him over. Women are so smart!! When will they ever learn :-)

Good shirt

By:
May 15, 2009

For the money, this is a great shirt. I searched several store's websites and the cheapest shirt I found similiar to this was at least $25. I've worn them running and just around and they are great. Very light so it is a thin base layer, but if the shirts are used as intended, they can't be beat.

Best T-shirt hands down!!!

By:
May 31, 2009

Bought this t-shirt from another company closer to home for my husband. He is very picky and as soon as he came home from work after wearing this t-shirt, said it was the best he had ever worn. Wanted one in every color. Highly reccommend to all. Guess I will have to buy some for me.

good shirt, but not great

By:
March 27, 2009

i got this in xxl - 6'4 230 w a 47 chest. it fit perfect, but the material was too slick and had a shimmery look to it. it was very comfortable, but i couldn't take how it looked, so i sent it back. it wicked well while i had it and dried quickly. TNF has a better shirt, the ruckus. get that one instead.
