Why We Like The North Face VE 25 Tent
When conditions get so bad that even the rocks go rolling for cover, we hole up in The North Face VE 25 Tent. The VE is a full-on expedition shelter designed for long alpine missions, with a super-solid construction that's built to withstand high winds, heavy snow, and serious exposure. Its classic two-wall design provides killer weatherproofing while PU coatings on the fly and floor stop water from seeping, even with prolonged exposure to moisture.
The North Face decked the VE out with dual doors, each boasting a bombproof vestibule. High-low venting keeps some fresh air moving through the VE, so it doesn't smell like ski boots and sweaty socks. A PU port window lets us check on the storm. The guylines are made from no-stretch Kevlar, the DAC stakes have pull cords for easy battening of the hatches, and there are also fabric snow stakes for security when you're setting up camp in soft snow.

Norh Face does not have ground sheet for older models
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own an old version of this tent. When I lost the tent, I still had the rain fly and poles, which can be set up in the fast fly version. But I also lost the ground sheet. North face no longer has a ground sheet that fits this tent. Or they will refuse to sell one separately From the newer model. Would love to see them start selling the ground sheets.

I've used this for the past 20 yrs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my VE-25 in 2004 for a Denali trip. TNF warranties this for life. I've had to replace one pole due to heavy snows in CA where we got too lazy to continue clearing the tent from snowfall every hour and woke up with a partial collapse. My original fly's seams delaminated and TNF replaced it with the newest version which is still compatible. My window just popped out on it like the guide in Peru noted. But TNF just fixed it and It's ready to take back out.

Good Times if It Doesn't Rain
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cousin recommended this tent, as he used it when climbing Denali and he loved it. After much additional research into 4-season tents, my brother and I split the cost on this one, as it's pretty pricey. That was two years ago. Since then we've used it about five times and have had trouble with the rainfly. Last winter the plastic window in the front entrance of the fly fell out in explicably. This winter (Jan of 2024) we brought it camping in a steady, but not intense rain, and the entire fly started leaking. When we peeked through the vents, we could see drips covering the underside of the dome. It was quite surprising and also frustrating, as those leaks started to pour in an all over my sleeping bag and elsewhere. Fortunately we had a spare tarp and we lashed that over the top so we'd make it through the night above water (it was mid-30's Fahrenheit outside as well). Instead of a 4-season tent, I'd call this a 3-season tent. As long as it's cold enough, we'll likely still take it out, but not if there's a chance of rain at all.

Bad to the BONE!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We camp. Recently I camped at Big Sur campground in California. That night was forecasted to receive heavy rains in excess of 1"/hr. The storm did not disappoint. I selected a spot in the camp on a slight angle so water would drain from under the tent. It rained so much that the entire campground was flooded in under 2" of water. The VE-25 kept us dry. Dry like a California drought. Would def. recommend this tent to you. The ventilation system kept the insides condensation free. The multiple doors is a nice touch. Lots of vestibule space. Always keep the tent pointed into the wind.

Sturdy tent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally broke down after 20yrs of enjoying my 3-4 season NF Nebula tent. It's the closest I could find to hvy durability my old NF tent offered. The tent is heavy though and best divided among others in a group.

Great 3-person tent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great tent, but returned as it's a very large 3-person tent. A little too big for us, but we have the 2-person version of this tent and LOVE it. VERY well made.

I would by this again
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Foot Print is included! I wanted to add this as it does not state in the product description. Also no more window to break out/off. A window would be nice but they always yellow and break down fist.

Good for homeless in cold conditions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I saved up for a year to get this tent. The homeless shelters in my area are very dangerous and I'd rather sleep outside. Unfortunately I live in cold conditions. Thankfully this tent has kept me warm
