Vario 33 Tent 3-Person 3-Season

The North Face designed the Vario 33 Tent to go fast. Ultralight MicroClip pole attachments and DAC Featherlite NSL aluminum poles help a loaded pack move, passing other tents on the trail left and right. Fully taped seams in the floor and canopy keep rain far away from you as you sleep, and high-low venting through mesh panels in the roof and door allow airflow and deter condensation build-up. The freestanding 3-pole design makes set-up and take-down lightning quick, and a compression stuff sack condenses the tent so that it takes up minimal space in your pack.

Bottom Line: Vario is NorthFacese for ultralight

Best ever 3 season used..

This is my 3rd tent(owned) and before that I've rented a lot from REI. Amazingly light and fits very well in your backpack for weekend trips. Recently used it in Shenandoah, temp in the low 30's and very high wind. This tent was amazing, i didn't have to use any Pegs for the tent. The only downside is water condensation, but since this is only a 3 season tent i don't hold it against it. Also one of the quickest setup time, about 2 minutes.

Both Good and Bad

Overall I fell like a recieved good value for a three season tent. There was a lot of thought put into the design of this tent. Comfortable in a range of temperatures, however a lot of condensation inside of tent was the trade off. I wouldn't call the tent "ultra-light" after a week of carrying it, especially with an extra pound of moisture on it, but I lived in it with my girl and an 85 pound dog, and it was like being inside a condo. Extremely easy to set up, any idiot could set this thing up in high winds in the dark!
