The North Face designed the warm, waterproof Men’s Vanton Winter Boot for snowy treks through unstable terrain. While a Hydroseal waterproof breathable membrane and lofty PrimaLoft insulation protect you from the elements, the Winter Grip outsole with temperature-sensitive Ice Pick lugs keeps you securely upright on even the slickest terrain. A full-length shank adds stability while a rear heel tab secures your snowshoes.

Bottom Line: Trek through wintry conditions with the Vanton Boot.

Warm and dry for sure. The Vanton has a fully taped waterproof membrane, and it has the highest Primaloft insulation package of any North Face boot- it should work great for snowmobiling up north.

This is a great looking boot and very comfortable, the sole clinches to everything.
With all that it is no good if your feet are cold and damp. I just bought this boot and 2 days later went hunting for a week in Colorado, trekking through 6-8 inches of snow for 10 miles a day the boot was not waterproof my foot was cold and damp, my hunting partners were wearing sorel boots although there boots were a lot heavier at least there feet were dry. Go with the gore-tex and not tnf knockoff hydro-seal this is the reason I stopped buying north face a while ago tnf just makes gear because of there name, there is much better gear out there, I always buy mountain hardwear clothing to bad they don't make boots. When is tnf going to get back to what made them a household name? I will never buy tnf again.

I purchased North Face Baltro 400 11 and I must say I am very disappointed, as they are not up to what is stated.. 40 degree minus..
I need a pair of boots to withstand the cold. These do not provide any warmth at all at all. And are completely useless in cold weather.
Living in Switzerland we know cold weather I trek at 40 minus.
I have now stopped buying North Face. I bought thro Shoebuy, 24.1.10 it took a month to get a answer..THEY WERE REFERING IT NORTH FACE SINCE NOTHING.
i
I will not be supportiing North Face.send Eric my regards
