It's difficult to enjoy an alpine ascent when winds chill your bones. So slide on The North Face Women's Valkyrie Softshell Jacket and prevent those nasty winds from freezing your body. WindStopper 3L fabric guarantees windproof protection while leaving the jacket breathable for your intense mountaineering and alpine adventures. The North Face brushed the jacket's tricot backer so you stay cozy and comfortable on and off the mountain.
The Valkyrie fits closely to your body for the maximum range of motion you need when you scale the final peak. It features underarm zips to ventilate heat out of the jacket at your belay station. The hood cinches tightly across your head even when you wear a helmet to protect your hair from blustery breezes, and the wire brim keeps the hood out of eyesight. A hidden hem cinch-cord tightens the jacket across your body when the wind really starts to howl. And your hand-warmer pockets are always there to toast up your mitts even if you have a harness or pack on.

A little thinner than expected
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
I have a couple of Windstopper jackets from North Face so I thought I would pick one up for my girlfriend. She's 5'10" with long arms and long torso, but the small still fit her just fine. She really likes the fit of it because it has an athletic fit, which definitely compliments her body type. She wears it all the time as a go to jacket for chilly days. Only negative thing is, for the price, I still would have expected a little more warmth out of it. Overall, it is a great jacket for those windy days.
My new FAVORITE North Face Shell
- Gender: Female
- Fit: True to size
Was a little hesitant in purchasing this Softshell for the price, but I got it during the 20% sale. I chose the Black, and now I'm regretting not buying it in the red as well. Just received it today and will add another review after I've worn it out, although the temperatures have been 60s-70s here in Jersey this week lol.
I've been a North Face and Spyder fan for over 10 years, and had a really tough time choosing a softshell this year. I'm glad I chose this one, because the fit and cut are amazing. The length is perfect and it is more fitted than boxy! Very happy and satisfied with my purchase!
