great overall shoe

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I used these more for hiking than anything else, I actually preferred some Mizuno's I have used and Salomon just a little more for my liking. That being said I rate these a solid 8 out of 10 and durability is very good.

Most comfortable for rough terrain

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

After 300 k miles on them, I can confidently say it is the most comfortable trail running shoe I have ever bought. I love the front toe protection and side support and exterior. they keep away debris on dirt roads (branches and plants)that would tear up the mesh on other shoes.

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I have only run in these shoes about 5 times but this is how it went.

Run 1 was a 21 mile non-technical trail run, the ride was absolutely comfortable and sure-footed. The shoes are super light and feel "connected".

Run 2 was about 5 miles and extremely technical single track trail run, I split the run between 2 types of shoes and went over the same terrain for shoe comparison. The Ultra Guide felt more connected and stable on all the crazy terrain, roots and rocks on the course.

The following runs were a mix on road and non-technical trail, the shoes felt comfortable and fast on all the runs.

An amazing and comfortable shoe!
