    Head into winter with style.

The North Face Women's Tremaya Down Parka makes it easy to look relaxed and stylish in temperatures that would normally force you to hide inside for days. The combination of a waterproof shell, a long cut for added protection, and toasty down insulation makes it easy to stay comfortable when it dips into the teens and twenties. The Tremaya Down Jacket doesn't look like a parka on a Himalayan expedition, though. All that warmth and high-performance protection is wrapped in a stylish, sophisticated shell with a tapered waist, snap-closure hand pockets, and an insulated hood with removable faux fur trim.

While the Tremaya's timeless styling is what first made you fall in love, its waterproof breathable shell and down insulation will keep your heart pitter-pattering for many winters to come. The shell is The North Face's tough poly/cotton fabric with its HyVent membrane, which is waterproof and breathable to repel rain and snow without stifling you. The recycled polyester taffeta lining is super-soft against your skin, so you can wear the Tremaya with a short-sleeve shirt if you want. Of course, the feature that you'll love the most is the warm 550-fill down insulation, which locks in the warmth to keep you cozy in the dead of winter.

The North Face gave the Tremaya removable hood with a removable faux fur hood trim, so you can change your look from one day to the next. The enclosed elastic back and waist gives the Tremaya a more flattering, feminine shape. The internal rib-knit collar and cuffs add comfort, and plenty of pocket space makes it easy to bring your stuff along or just warm your digits up.

    Tight in the shoulders

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

I was not sure if I should order a small or medium for my 5' 7", 125 pound daughter, but went with the medium because there is nothing worse than a great coat you never wear because it is binding. She loved the coat, but even the size medium felt restrictive and tight in the shoulders. The coat felt incredibly warm, and looked great, but it had to go back.

Survived a tailgate and football game!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I've worn the coat for a week now in 30 degree temps. This week I had to pick up my kids from school in pouring rain in 40 degree temps and I just wore the coat. I took off the fur hood piece and just had the plain hood. The hood covered me perfectly. No umbrella needed (it was too windy for one anyway). I was dry and warm! Two people asked me what coat I was wearing as they saw me standing in the rain without complain while the rest of them huddled in a doorway. It was warm and dry I loved it but had my first true test today. This was the first time I survived a football tailgate and game with whipping winds and 30 degree temps without ever feeling cold. Everyone around me was miserable. Usually I am the one complaining about the cold and wanting to leave, but I kept my hood up (with the faux fur hood part on to help block wind) and my hands in my pockets and I was completely warm!!! This jacket is amazing. My only (minor) complaint is the pic of the black coat online shows a black faux fur hood but mine came gray. Other than that, it is just perfect. Super happy. Sorry I didn't buy one sooner.

    Tight across chest

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

I'm a size 4-6 with chest size 36C and a 28 inch waist. I loved the look, warmth and construction but it was too tight across the chest. Unfortunately sending back.

    Whose afraid of the cold

This coat is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something to keep me warm without making me look huge. The fact that it has a waterproof shell makes it perfect for any winter storm you encounter. I'm not always a big fan of a hood, but I understand the importance of them. I love that this coat gives you the option to use it or remove it.

      Love!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size

Just received my coat, after debating on spending the money for so long, I finally went for it! This coat fits great, and can be worn with a sweatshirt underneath without feeling like a marshmallow. Since it is only October, I haven't yet walked the streets for a true test of warmth, but I do love the little sleeves/glove combination that pull down out of the hand part to act as a light glove as many sweatshirts have these days. There is a zipper and also magnetic buttons, which i love! Who likes to waste time buttoning and unbuttoning your coat?! I mainly bought this coat because it is waterproof, and that is true as I drizzled a little water on the sleeve to test that out. Anyways, if your looking for a knee length coat, that's stylish, and will keep you dry as well as warm, this coat is worth the money. I am 5 foot 2 and the coat reaches right to my knee cap.

      Best coat ever!

      • Fit: True to size

I ordered the 2013 version of the Tremaya in February 2014. The sizing, in my opinion was way off. The medium was exact on me with no room underneath for a sweater, and the large was way too big in the waist and shoulders. I was so happy when I saw that North Face had made modifications to the 2014 version . I ordered a large and it fit perfectly. I love that there are adjustments on the waist so you can cinch it in, they also streamlined the shoulders and arms. Another very cool feature is the attached, hidden, lightweight mittens built into the design. My coat arrived in less than a week (ordered on Oct. 5th and received Oct. 9th) and I am so pleased with it. I LOVE IT!!. I can't wait to brave the New York winter in this coat.

      Seriously warm

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large

This jacket is the warmest you will find. Seriously - I researched for a month before ordering 4 jackets from another site, and returning them all because they were not warm enough. I ultimately ended up with the Tremaya, which was a lifesaver when walking to class in -10F weather! I've never been cold in this jacket - the collar and sleeves don't let in any wind, and the jacket is just long enough to keep your legs warm without making it difficult to walk. Plenty of pocket space too! It does run somewhat large as other reviewers have mentioned, so order two sizes and return one.

      Just my luck

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I returned my size large in navy blue because it was too big, and was able, by some miracle, to purchase a medium in black. I guess someone must have returned it. Anyway, it turns out the medium is too fitted on me. I could keep it but wouldn't be able to fit a sweater under it. I'm so disappointed. I guess this just isn't the coat for me. The large was too large and the medium too small :(

Well made garment but sizing is way off

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: Runs large

I bought the navy blue parka. It's absolutely gorgeous. The only downside is that I followed the sizing guidelines and purchased a large. I really should have listened to my fellow reviewers and bought a medium. I am 5'7". I weigh 160. I carry the majority of my weight on my thighs and behind. The large is big around the waist area, the back area and shoulders. I am so disappointed right now because at the time of my purchase, I had the option of choosing a size medium in black . Suffice to say, I will be returning it :(

I have to choose a product rating so I give it 5 stars on the quality and make of the garment. I'm not going to tarnish the product by giving it a lower rating, but buyer beware, please be very wary about the sizing charts for this parka.

      ICELAND APPROVED.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

We used this coat in Iceland this last month and its amazing, its very warm, i had to wear a base layer under it, but thats normal. The fit is just like i wanted.

      Highly recommend it.

      Not worth the price

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs large

When you spend this kind of money on a coat, you expect a good fit. This jacket's proportions are HUGE! I used the North Face's website's fit guide and bought it before the previous reviewer posted otherwise I would've got the small. Now, they are out and I fully regret the purchase.

Im 5'8 and 140 with an athletic build and the jacket swallows me up. The waistline is massive, the sleeves are too long , my friends joke about me looking pregnant and the hood hangs too low and obstructs your sight. Now they are out of the small or I would return.

      Runs large

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs large

I was on the fence between a Small and a Medium because reviews did say this jacket runs large. I still went for a Medium being afraid of not having room for a sweater. I have PLENTY OF ROOM. I am 5'5 and 130 pounds. The jacket IS very warm though. I wore it outside to test it and it is close to 0 degrees Farenheight today. I wore fleece tights and a simple long sleeved cotton shirt under it and was absolutley fine during the 5 minutes I was out there. It's definitely a warm coat, just a bit big.

      Love the fit

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I have owned this jacket for the second winter now, and i love the fit of this coat. Today the weather was minus 30 and with just a

t-shirt on I was still warm and toasty. I was going to purchase a Canada Goose jacket, but liked this one more. I own several North Face jackets and love the quality.

Too tight at shoulder, baggy at waist

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: Runs large

I have been looking for a red parka for a while and thought this could had been the one. So disappointed! I first ordered it in small, which was way too tight at the shoulders, but perfect at the waist, especially when looking at the mirror from the side . Then I got the medium, which was perfect at the shoulder but so baggy at the waist! -- I looked like a turtle | ) .They really missed out on the princess seams at the back of the coat. For reference, I'm 5'6" 119lb, slender body. I really wanted to love this coat, but it simply did not work for me. Length is also perfect (same as the Arctic Parka). Yeah, it does look neat in the picture, but when you wear it it does not look like that. And for $440 I wanna buy something I can love and wear all the time.
