The North Face Trailhead 8 Tent creates a home away from home in the wild outdoors. Spacious enough to comfortably sleep 8 people, this family camper is a lot easier on your wallet than that vacation home you've been dreaming of—but not much smaller. Fusion Pitch technology makes the Trailhead super quick and easy to set up, so you spend more time having fun. Prayer-bound floor seams increase user space with clean angles, and color-coded canopy and flysheet webbing makes setting up the fly a snap before the rain starts to fall. Dual doors reduce congestion from 8 people coming and going from the Trailhead 8. Rounding out a host of features is an internal pocketing system, a strengthening combination of pole clips and sleeves, two roll-down dividers to create three separate sleeping compartments, and an included stuff sack.
Bottom Line: The North Face Trailhead 8 is a family camping tent for when big just isn't big enough.
Ultimate party errrr family camping tent. Pretty easy to set up for a big boy - doesn't take me 10 - 15 minutes. Full coverage fly and beefy poles are well worth the extra money here. I done the cheap car camping tent thing, and one storm was all it took to change that. Bomber floor - very dog friendly.

It's plenty well ventilated, but all tents get condensation. As far as claustrophobia, it's got a 6.5 foot ceiling and a 9 by 17 foot floor. Even a cow wouldn't feel confined.
I've had this tent for 3 years now. I think I got the first version available. Not sure what changes have been made to the 08 & 09 versions. Mine is perfect in every way.
Typical of North Face, they think of little things. It has mega pockets and lantern hangers. Fast and simple to set up. Rugged, durable construction. We have 40+ days in ours now and love it. Wouldn't change a thing.
We are a family of 4 and it has plenty of space for us. I can't imagine having 8 in it, but if you wanna snuggle I guess you could!
Excellent airflow and great sealing. We get air during the day and close up tight at night. We typically camp in alpine areas where night temps are in the late 30's or low 40's.
Again, great product. I expect to have it for another 10 years.
It has a small (aprox 4') vestibule. Not an awning as such, but serves for outside storage. You wouldnt want to attach any other typ of awning to the tent.
I am a retired grandmother, a new camper, and I purchased this tent in the fall of 2007. Have used it twice for camping and I cannot stop saying good things about it. I had never put up a tent but was able to do so quickly with the help of one other person. I was also able to take it down, rolled it up and repacked it just like I received it. The weather was chilly but with a small electric heater it was nice and warm inside. I will recommend this tent to all my friends. Thanks North Face!
