good light soft winter gloves

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

tnf makes good stuff seemingly no matter what. i have a wide array of their products from nylon packable swim shorts (wearing them now) to basecamp duffel (awesome) to a 700 down himalaya-type jacket (heaven). the design, materials and construction of these seem to be up to the usual high standard.

they were for my mom, but i opted to return them for the new etip windstopper gloves (cost 3x more) bc i though she'd appreciate the technology. there was nothing wrong with these. in fact, they feel not so different than the etips. obviously, no windstopper or touch screen compatibility.

for what they are ( and cost ) these seem like really solid gloves.

Fuji climb

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

I used these gloves on a climb on Mt. Fuji. I talked with customer service before purchasing to let them know exactly what I was looking for. Something warm, flexible, works with bouldering, and waterproof. These gloves were warm, flexible and worked with bouldering. They were not waterproof. It did not rain on the climb but there was a lot of time in the clouds and the gloves were in a lot of moisture as a result. By the time I reached the summit the gloves were soaked through and I could not feel the tips of my fingers.

The size chart posted with the gloves is not accurate. I just checked the link to see if it has been changed and it hasn't. You need the Women's Size Chart not the Unisex Size Chart. I was concerned about the size chart before purchasing and talked with customer service and they assured me that it was correct. When the gloves came they were way too small. Backcountry had to email me the correct size chart and I had to exchange the gloves.
