The North Face took a great thing and made it even better with its latest version of the Women's TKA 100 Texture Masonic Hooded Fleece Jacket. The new premium Polartec fleece is warmer and lighter than ever, providing highly breathable, wicking comfort across a wide range of activities. We'd name them, but really, the list is way too long.
Polartec fleece features an ultra-soft hand and unique surface texture
Pill-resistant fleece on face and back ensures it looks good wash after wash
Gently ruched hand pockets and a longer, tapered silhouette impart a feminine look
Thumbholes in cuffs keep your hands warm on cool mornings and allow layers to slide on easily
A warm outerlayer made of Polartec fleece that works well for casual activities as well as strolling around town, sitting around a campfire, or lounging at home. Nice feminine cut, great hood, and a nice thick fleece with open pockets. Good stretch in movement, and retains heat well. I'm 5'8, athletic build, and the Medium fits great.
I love this hoodie! It is warm, but lightweight and looks great. It is cut a little longer, which is what I like. I wore this hiking as well as around town and it kept me plenty warm on both occasions. The thumb holes are nice if you want some hand warmth, but don't want to wear gloves. Overall, I am very happy with it!

Needed to replace an old North Face fleece. Would have liked to get it in grey but it was not on sale in grey. I figured I should add color to my closet anyway. I like the thumb holes--new colors do not have thumb holes (replaced with media pocket?). The blue is a bright, fun color but not too flashy. This is a nice lightweight hooded fleece. The rouching at the pockets makes it feel a little bunchy in the middle.
I ordered the size small in striker blue and I really like the color and the overall look. It does fit a bit large...I'm about 5'5'' and 120 lbs. It isn't as close fitting as I would like it to be. Nonetheless, that's not really the problem. I ordered the fleece even though I noticed that people had previously commented that it pills. I hoped that maybe it wouldn't pill on me, especially after I saw that the description which claims that it is "pill-resistant." Unfortunately, it has already started pilling and I have had it less than a week and have worn it about three times. I suppose that reflects the quality of the fleece.
I love this top! It is amazingly wichs moisture. I have this jacket in few different colors. The colors and quality is amazing. It is still looks like brand new after many washes.
I got a small and love the fit! I run with mine and on super cold days I put the hood up, it tends to fall down a lot. I feel like it doesn't go very far back. But a great purchase, just wear a hat :)
I got the bonnie blue. I was a little concerned with the color (looking at it on here) since it appears really bright, but it's a lot calmer in person. I like it a lot. the thumb wholes are neat, and makes it easy to put on a thicker coat over if it you're layering for really cold weather, avoiding bunching in the forearm that can be super annoying.
overall I have zero complaints, honestly.
sizing: I got a small and it fits great, perhaps just a tad loose - the XS would have been nice if I wanted it real fitted. I'm 5'3, 125 pounds.
First of all, this is my second zip up hoodie of this type and I love them. I'm a huge fan of extra long sleeves (past the wrist) and this one includes thumb holes which I love when layering with other jackets because it keeps the sleeves from sliding up. I also like to have my fingers free from gloves since I use a touch screen phone. It's very warm and great for layering. I don't get to hot when I'm going from outside to inside and it's also comfy and the size chart seems to be true to size; I'm normally a size 8/10 and got the medium and it fits perfect. Machine washable and good for everyday use!
I honestly am very impressed about this hoodie - the striker blue I was afraid was going to be a bit too bright for my liking but it's definitely more "mellow" color, almost like a teal blue; it fits perfect and I love the fact that it's almost like a jersey material from outside (looks more sharp than regular fleece) and cozy regular fleece from inside; and of course the price is really good for the quality. I ordered one of the Marmot hoodies initially but you can see immediately the difference in quality - North Face can't be beaten! Highly recommend. I might actually get one in a different color...Oh, I haven't washed it yet but I'm sure it will hold up just fine.
I thought it was a little thin, thinner than the standard fleece jacket. I would recommend checking one out in person if you could. Might be great for running or layering.
This is a really nice hoodie for chilly but not freezing temps, easy to pack since it's not overly bulky. Cool little thumb holes and great styling. Love the girly cut, this is not a boxy jacket.
Definitely a cute, well cut sweatshirt. It's not your standard fleece, as one or two have mentioned, and I can imagine it will pill up with warm water wash and drying, but I'm super pumped on it, and it's definitely not your standard sweatshirt. Hood is roomy but fitted, and the pockets are ruched which is a detail you can't see on the picture because they have the hips part pinned back on the mannequin, but it's definitely ruched and girly.
I'm 5'10" and would have sprung for the large if they had it, but I got a medium instead and actually like the more tailored fit.
I ordered the olive green... the color is lighter than in the pictures, but not obnoxiously so.
Got it for $35 on steepandcheap and I'm pretty satisfied.
I really want to like this hoodie. It fits well, its warm, the thumb holes are great, but it pills like crazy. It looks awful after only a single wash and a few days of wearing. And it just keeps accumulating to the point that my blue hoodie (oh and it isn't the blue that is displayed, way different color) looks white from all the pilling. so sad
I have had the same problem with the pilling, it looks horrible. I plan to contact backcountry to return it as I'm not pleased with the quality of this NF product at all. Very disappointed.
The jacket is pretty much what I expected for the price. It's not the same quality as other North Face fleeces, but it's much cheaper than the others. There seem to be some sizing issues; previous reviews have said it runs small, but I ordered two of the same size, and one fit and the other was way too big. I ended up giving it to my sister. I'm 5'4", 110 lbs and ordered the small. I probably should have gotten the extra small. It's a good jacket as a base layer or a light outer layer. Overall, I'm happy with it.
First of all it says it is a FLEECE. It is a hooded SWEATSHIRT. There is a huge difference. I would pay the money for a fleece which looks nicer, etc. compared to a sweatshirt. I returned it. I picked the Garden Pink and it was a pukey looking pink.
I just received it today...I love it! fit is very feminine and soft pink color. only disappointment is no logo on the back shoulder..something we all look forward to seeing, i think. I will definitly order again! I got a small, fits perfect...I'm 5'4 115lbs. size 36C chest. Hope that helps!
I received this jacket as a Christmas gift. At first I was a little skeptical about its warmth because it is really light weight. This jacket is quite warm for its weight. I am 5'2" and 115lbs and the XS fit perfectly.
It's a sweatshirt really, not a jacket. It's nice and I'm keeping it . I do think it runs small so order up a size. I wear a large in EVERYTHING but the large was snug so i returned for a XL. Also, the North Face logo is black and on the front not back. So on the black SWEATSHIRT, it's hard to see.
The sizing on this runs small, but that wasn't the major issue. After wearing it only once it began to pil and I noticed a hole in the fabric. I expected better quality from NorthFace and will be returning cause I'm not keeping an expensive sweatshirt I'm not happy with.
Light weight but warm. Love the thumb holes, the high zip neck and hood. It's cozy and nice for these transition months. (I live in upstate NY) Great for layering - I actually own two of them now. Can layer them together; over heavy sweaters; or under other jackets when it gets really cold. It can get sub-zero in temp and/or wind chill in Jan & Feb. An extra warm, but not-bulky layer is greatly appreciated on those days!
Love this jacket! It's so soft and light, perfect for spring and fall. Not suitable for winter. Also great for layering. Perhaps under your ski/snowboarding jacket.
I got this for my wife. She is 5'9" and 140 and a Medium fit her just the way she likes. It is on the side of a form fitting fitting athletic fit which she loves. The thumb loops and hood have will serve their purpose in due time but for the jacket is perfect for her needs of wearing this casually while having a warm baselayer on the coldest of days.
I bought this jacket for both of my daughters Very nice cut with a feminime style, love the thumb hole! The small and medium fit perfect and the length was great on them It is nice for the cold school they are in all day and after swimming its soft and warm It keeps them warm from the gym to the car and to and from sports and the walk to their classes
This hoodie is awesome. I rock climb and wear it out to the boulder field over my long underwear and under my down jacket on the really cold days. And when it is in the low 50s or so, I just wear it over a shirt! I love it because it is flattering, doesn't make me look fat (like some other bulky fleeces), and is still warm even with thin material. It allows me to move freely and even boulder in it. Plus, it has extra long sleeves and awesome thumb holes to keep my hands warm. Furthermore, the hood is form fitting and wraps right around your head when you put it up.A note on the size...I am 5'5" and weigh 130lbs with a slender but muscular build...I wear a small. Im not very curvy, but I imagine that this would work fine if you were. It is a great product!
Wife wanted a lighter jacket from her Denali, but she is a women and wishes it was a little warmer. The fit is true medium size and she is 5'4. Between myself and wife we have 8 The North face jackets and happy with them all. The customer service department is top notch. Thank you again for everything.
What a GREAT hoodie!!! It's so comfortable and lightweight, but still somewhat warm. Great for covering up or relaxing in. It's actually more of a hoodie feel than a fleece feel, but still comfortable. And it came VERY quickly on standard delivery! Thanks!
A warm outerlayer made of Polartec fleece that works well for casual activities as well as strolling around town, sitting around a campfire, or lounging more...
I love this hoodie! It is warm, but lightweight and looks great. It is cut a little longer, which is what I like. I wore this hiking as well as around more...
