Great fleece, it's soft, and most of all warm. I just wear a v-neck under and i'm walking out in 45F weather in NY. Could go lower if the wind wasn't blowing as bad.
If it's from backcountry.com just give them a call. Their customer service is top notch and they're awesome about returns. Better yet if you're in the SLC area you can just stop in. They hooked me up a couple years ago when I was on a trip out there and stopped in to return an item.

I have had one of these for about a year and I love it. Soft light weight fleece, super comfy, looks great and you can dress this up or down depending on what you layer under it. It has washed well and retained it's color and shape. This is not micro fleece, like those 1/4 zip running/technical shirts, so I'm not confident it would hold up to serious abrasion or abuse. At 5-11, 180 lbs, med build, I tried on both the med & lg. I went with the med for a more european fit and can comfortably wear a t shirt or light weight polo under it. This is one of my versatile and "must-pack" tops for travel, hiking and casual wear.
First I have to say it's nice TNF recognizes that just because you're 6'4" you don't necessarily have a 44" waist.
This shirt reflects that and I can't thank them enough (some of their shirts in the past have been, shall we say, voluminous around the waist area).
Pros - fitted shirt that is made for trimmer people, huge plus in my book - nice arm length in XL size (used to have get XXL to get long enough sleeves) - nice light shirt that is also warm - because it's so light I often take this shirt with me "just in case" - nice collar that stands up with no hassles - hemmed at a nice length
Cons - the colors are a bit drab, saw the dark blue in the store and was underwhelmed, the lighter blue is also a bit dull, I have older versions in red, bright blue and black that after many washings are more vibrant than my new ones
- tiny bit tight across the shoulders when I cross my arms (why not get the XXL? because the XL fits perfectly other than that)
- the fleece is light but not as dense as past TKA 100 versions nor as dense as the Patagonia Micro D-luxe. I will probably not take this to the BWCA for a week as my one and only fleece.
Despite the cons I still gave it 5 stars because the pros far outweigh the cons and I almost live in this shirt.
I'm a High School teacher and Coach. I coach year round. Mainly runners but wrestlers as well. I bought this pullover for my coaching staff 4 years ago. I had them all embroiderd with our school name at a local embroidery place. I wear this pull-over for 8 months a year. When its colder, I put a Jacket over the top. I have washed this pull-over 3 or 4 times a month since I bought it. I live in it and beaten it up as much as I possibly could and it is still 100% like the day I got it (a little faded though I guess, it is black).
What I love about this, and others have mentioned, is the cut of it. I am 6'2" 230lbs (with a 36" waist) so most XL pull overs are just too big in the stomach and waist... but because of my shoulders I can't wear a large... this pullover fits perfectly! The sleeves are the perfect length as well. I am buying multiple other ones (not to be embroidered this time) because my wife makes fun of me fore how much I wear my other one.
This is the first thing I bought from North Face because it is pricier than basic department store stuff... but the durability and longevity of this stuff makes it more affordable than even stuff at Wal-Mart that doesn't last!
I love these 1/4 zip lightweight fleece tops for the fall and winter. At $25 this one is a steal as it is very comfortable and warm!
The only (very) slight drawback is that there is no chest pocket and the fit through the shoulders is a little different but not something that would stop me from buying it again.
3xl ordered-Wish Backcountry would carry more 3xl. Shirt is a little liight but is a good fleece. Great for layering but not heavy enough to be worn by itself below 40 degrees.
This is one of my favorite fleece: soft, light and warm. The fit is better than other TNF clothes I have. While most of the north face clothes are wide and relaxed fit, this one is a little slimer, which makes it great. You still feel comfortable but it is not bulky at all. I am 6 and L fits great.
Man is it comfortable. With regards to its warmth, its right in line with the other 100 weight fleece by North Face. I got an XL, but it fits a little big. I'm 5'9 and 210lbs. Large would have been better for layering.
Thsis is my go to shirt from now on. It is incredibly light and warm. The comfort is just outstanding for any activity. You can go it alone or wear as a baselayer.
I'm retiring some of my old shirts cause they don't get pulled out of the closet anymore.I have 4 of these now in different colors.
