Zip through the ski season’s high and low pressure systems when you wear the 3-in-1 Tilithium Triclimate Jacket. No matter what the weather decides to unleash on your mountain, the fully seam taped, waterproof breathable HyVent 2L shell and zip-in Heatseeker Eco insulated liner keep you dry and warm. As the weather changes from day to day, or throughout the day, you are one step ahead of it with the Tilithium’s three different layering options.

  • Wearing the shell alone provides waterproof breathable protection for not-so-frigid, snowy days
  • Wearing the liner alone keeps you warm during mild, sunny days in or out of the resort
  • The shell fabric is Bluesign approved, which means The North Face progressively reduces its environment impact during all levels of producing the fabric
  • Integrated powder skirt, hook-and-loop cuffs, and an adjustable hem prevent snow from creeping into your nether-layers
  • Zip-in attachment system lets you access the pockets in the shell and liner
  • Removable hood seals out the snow when you need it, but is out of your hair when you don’t
  • Internal media pocket keeps your MP3 player warm and functional

Bottom Line: If changing winter weather is your dragon, the Tilithium is your mythical sword.

I am thinking about buying this or The North Face Atlas Triclimate,

I am thinking about buying this or The North Face Atlas Triclimate, which one would be warmer? I am moving to Chicago -- the purpose would be for commute mostly, gotta take the lake wind and I don't plan on layering too much underneath (business causal). Can it do it?

I live in atlanta , after the fall and during the winter the weather is really gapping ( all over the place) it can easily be in the teens one week with the sun shining and have snow on the ground and then have the next week been in the mid 40's and have the weekend see temps during the daytime in the upper 60's. I run my husky and malamute twice a day in any weather conditions ( rain , snow or cold) I am looking for a jacket that is athletic to move in and at the same time keeps me warm and is rain-resistant and blocks wind as well as keeps me warm and breathes all at the same time. Any suggestions?

JT,
Thanks for your question. The biggest difference between the Tilithium and Atlas triclimates from The North Face is the inner jacket of the system. In the Tilithium you get a Heatseeker (similar to Primaloft) inner jacket versus 200 weight fleece inner jacket in the Atlas. For warmth I would choose the Tilithium with the Heatseeker inner jacket. It is overall a better jacket and the synthetic insulation will also be more thermally efficient than fleece should you get wet. If you are looking for something to combat the wind in Chicago you might also consider the Windwall triclimate. I hope this is helpful for you.

My experience with the Tilithium Jacket

I liked the jacket, it kept me dry. My Denali fleece was able to zip into it nicely, and keep me warmer. I didn't get a chance to test out this combo on the slopes, so I can't say anything there.

The only thing I wished it had was more pockets! Some zippered chest or sleeve pockets would've been very handy.

Will a North Face Windwall II fleece zip into this?

No, the Windwall is not zip-in compatible. I'd suggest the Khumbu or the Denali, for a fleece that will work with the zip-in system.
