Description
A jacket for cold days in town and a mid-layer for freezing, wet days at the resort.
The cold usually makes your muscles tense and your bones ache, but The North Face Women's Thunder Down Jacket locks in your body heat efficiently so you don't have to feel that pain all winter long. During cold, clear days, the baffled 800-fill down keeps your core temperature steady and comfortable for everyday wintertime errands. When you're getting ready for a super-cold, snowy day at the resort, just slip a snow-proof shell over the Thunder and keep the cold, wet shivers at bay while winter shows its nastiest face.
- Nylon ripstop outer shell uses a DWR coating to shed flurries so you don't get soaked as a storm approaches
- Highly compressible 800-fill down insulation keeps heat inside during a snowstorm without adding too much bulk to your winter getup
- All-over baffles help keep the down in place over many seasons of constant use
- At 13.4 ounces, this ultralight down puffy stuffs into your winter camping pack
- Full-length front zipper permits venting and easy on-off when you heat up in the cold
- Hem cinch, full collar, and elastic cuffs further help seal out the frigid air
- Two zippered hand pockets hold skiing or daily accessories close at hand, and the jacket stows into its left pocket for efficient storage

I bought this jacket in 2011 and it's still an awesome jacket that has maintained much of its original fill...I also own the Patagonia women's down jacket and that one severely hemorrhages feathers and is not nearly as warm as it once was. This jacket is light, compactable, and warm (but not too warm!). Would definitely recommend this jacket.

Great price, super light, super warm! Nothing but goodness here! I was worried about the shedding others wrote about..I had maybe a few feathers 2 days, but nothing since! I wear it exclusively and would love another in Black or Pink! I got silver and get complements all the time. Get it!
Nice!

This is a very light weight, but warm, down jacket. I love the color (kodiak blue) and the sizing is very true to size. My only complaint is that some of the down feathers were already coming out of the jacket when I received this jacket. I'm not sure if this is consistent with all of them, but I returned mine because I was worried about the feather shedding.

I'd like to find one like that too. It seems to be a problem with all the women's down jackets on the market right now, at least of the ones I've tried. The Patagonia version is even worse with the feather shedding, this North Face one is actually the best I've found. :(

Yes it is, would recommend drying it with a few tennis balls or other pieces of clothing to maintain its loft and prevent the feathers from clumping.

I'm a guy, and bought this for a relative. My wife tried it on too. From my perspective (a guy perspective) this coat is great looking, it is more flattering to a woman's curves than your typical horizontal stitching that is done on down jackets. I give it my high marks mainly because of its looks, but the fact that it is warm (function) and light as a feather, that is just like icing on the cake.
Lightweight & Lovely!

Ladies, you'll love this jacket if you're looking for a quality lightweight jacket that will keep you warm. You can't go wrong with Northface-- they know cold! This jacket is perfect for yard work on a cold day or holiday shopping. It's so light, you can roll it up and put it in your purse or bag. I ordered a medium/black (I wear sz 8/10). I highly recommend it! Ordering from BackCountry was great too -- it shipped in 2 days, just like the confirmation said it would.
Like wearing a feather

This was an amazingly comfortable jacket with long sleeves (6'2", 170) and I loved it but it really is just a sweater. I am returning it because of the price and how little it did to keep me warm at 45F.
Can't live without it!

Love love this jacket! It is really warm but doesn't overheat. The length and fit are great and I love the longer sleeves.
