Love this jacket!

I got the Thunder jacket in gray stone blue. Beautiful color. I'm 5'6 135 pounds. I got it in medium. Fits perfect. Very warm and comfortable. Not bulky. It was 10 below outside today and I was nice and warm in my thunder jacket! Highly recommend .

    Great Color

This jacket is very warm and easily packs away. If your a short person. the sleeves are long and the jacket sits well below the hips. Order two sizes to make sure, so easy to return one. Backcountry is one of the best online stores I deal with. They are friendly and most helpful...

      Excellent All-Around Jacket

The relative this jacket was purchased for is very satisfied with it. Go-anywhere style and very warm, even down into the teens. The fit seems slightly larger than most TNF women's jackets, so try it on if you get the chance first. Also doesn't feel like the outer shell material is particularly durable, but time will tell.

Super light weight but very warm!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size

The best part of this jacket is ratio of weight to warmth, which is very low. Super light weight, super warm! I tried it on indoors - it took about 2 minutes before I couldn't stand having it on because I was starting to sweat. I ordered it in Greystone Blue, which is a beautiful powdery blue / purple / gray. I LOVED the color until I unzipped the jacket to find that it was lined in a very bright color. North Face calls the color of the lining "Mint Blue" - to me it looks like a very bright mint green and I really do not like it. I felt it ruined the beauty of the jacket. True, you don't see the inner lining when you're all zipped up. But, considering how warm this jacket is, the minute you step indoors, you will have to unzip! Unfortunately, I don't think I can live with the color of the lining, so I am returning and sticking with my other North Face Thunder jacket in (all) TNF black! GREAT jacket - comfy, lightweight, warm. Love my TNF black version. The 2nd color combination I ordered (Greystone Blue / Mint Blue lining) was not for me, but it just might appeal to others.

Is the North Face Thunder Down Jacket or the Marmot Quasar jacket warmer? What is the difference in a 10D or a 20D ripstop DWR?
