Whether you’re waist deep in the gnar or hunkering down on the lift, The North Face Men’s Three Degrees Jacket has what you need to keep yourself protected and your temperature regulated. Gore-Tex Performance Shell fabric seals out moisture in any form, and 100 grams of compressible PrimaLoft insulation beats back the chill on icy days. The removable storm hood and powder skirt keep out intrusive spindrift, and when things get a little too warm, zippered chest vents dump excess heat. The North Face also added a RECCO avalanche reflector for some in-bounds peace of mind and an offset front zip to ward off chafing.
Bottom Line: Keep your core temperature regulated in any conditions with the Three Degrees Jacket.
Hi everybody! I am 5'10 170 athletic build. I own TNF Free Thinker II Jacket in a small and It is still baggy on me, the arms are very wide and a bit too long. I know that the Free thinker II runs large since it's only a shell.
I'm thinking about buying TNF Three Degrees jacket b/c it has that insulation and everything else is similar to the Free thinker. Do you guys have any insight into what size i should get? Does the Three Degrees Jacket run large too?
Ive owned the steep tech apogee.. Steep tech apogee snorkel.. Steep tech dolomite transformer and the steep tech agency... I own the nort face plasma thermal, the redemption triclimate, denali and even the Special gortex freethinker jacket... But all does not even comes close to this jacket... Im wearing t shirts and collar shirts and still is warm in 20 to 30 degree weather. the three degrees is worth the hefty 499 price....
I'm wondering about the fit of this jacket. I am tall and have long arms but am thin. Is the arm length generous? I can't decide whether to get a M or a L. Help?

I love this jacket because it is insulated, but not heavy, and very warm. Love the detatchable hood, and the way the collar covers your neck if you zip the jacket all the way up. I do not ski or snowboard, but this is a great jacket, and I love the chest, sleeve, MP3, and cell phone pockets. Has been cold and rainy the last few days, and the DWR feature is great. can't beat Gore-Tex. Does a great job of keeping the wind out too. This jacket has pit zips, but I have not needed to use them. Fits great and looks cool. It is a purchase I do not regret. As always, Backcountry did a great job making sure this arrived at my door quickly. Nicely done.
Skiing on the lakefront in northern MI... nothing seems to get through this thing ! Sub Zero temps and even a steady rain ! Great venting, the best all around jacket I own.
This is not a shell jacket, you do not need any puffy down jackets under it. Its a bomb proof insulated jacket. I own this for the cold days and own an arcteryx for the layring days.
I disagree, I just bought this bomb proof jacket and think it should be fine with just a light base layer. Its a very warm jacket, just try to put a puffy down mid layer under it, you will roast and feel like the stay puff marsh mellow man too. This jacket has insulation, its not a shell. I have an arcteryx too, that one I use for layering.
In those types of conditions you are probably still going to want to wear some type of midlayer with this jacket. If you are looking for something that you don't need to layer with, I would recommend The North Face Verdi Down II jacket- this has enough insulation so that you won't need to wear anything more than a lightweight baselayer. Hope this helps-
