The perfect winter coat
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: large
I am loving this coat! The material is great, feels extremely substantial (I have the Tnf Black, which seems to be a different type of material than the grey heather) and the lining is extremely comfortable and makes the jacket slip on and off with ease. The Thermoball insulation is light but surprisingly warm - I have yet to experience conditions here in Minnesota where it failed to keep me toasty. I really like the shaped cuffs, which help to keep my wrists covered. The extended length in the tail is great too, I like the way it looks, kind of like some of my cycling jackets.
Great looks, great performance and quality construction. I wouldn't change a thing!
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs large
- Size Bought: Small
This jacket had the casual look I was going for and the fabric is fantastic. None of that mattered because this thing is massive. I have 6 other North Face jackets, all size small, that fit me perfectly. This jacket is cut very wide, and the sleeves were easily 6 inches longer than ever other jacket I own. I can extend my fingers out fully and the sleeves easily cover my finger tips. In fact it is so big I believe it may have been labeled a small by mistake at the factory. Also, the hood is pretty terrible, no insulation, and fits very small compared the the massiveness of the jacket.
