A ball o' therm.

The first thing you'll notice when you see the The North Face Women's Thermoball Full-Zip Insulated Jacket is the stylish diamond quilting and flattering cut. There's a lot more to the Thermoball than style, though.

When you pull on the Thermoball jacket, you'll be amazed at how warm it is. You wouldn't expect a jacket this light to lock in warmth so well. The reason is the Bluesign-approved Primaloft Thermoball synthetic insulation, which is just as light and compressible as down. Unlike down, however, synthetic insulation retains its insulating properties when it gets wet. The athletic fit makes it easier to layer a shell over the Thermoball for really cold weather. The North Face finished the Thermoball Jacket with two zippered hand pockets and a three-color pop-trim zipper-pull detail. Elastic at the cuffs comfortably seal out drafts, and the low-profile cinch cord at the hem allows you to customize the fit.

  • Bluesign-approved nylon fabric
  • Polartec Thermoball synthetic insulation
  • Athletic fit, hip length
  • Two hand pockets

Surprisingly warm

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

When I first picked this jacket up, I didn't believe that it would keep me warm. It is very light and thin, so you wouldn't expect it to be very insulating. However, don't judge this jacket too fast! It's amazingly warm for how thin it is!
I recently went on a winter camping/climbing trip and brought this as my heaviest jacket. Of course, I layered underneath it, but this baby kept me warm the whole time! Perfect for when you want warmth without weight.
Seems to run a bit big.. but that's perfect for when you want to layer underneath.
All in all, a solid jacket!
