Small and sturdy.
The North Face Terra 35 Backpack is a lightweight pack that's ideal for day hikes and overnight trips to favorite off-the-grid locations. Small enough to trek over rough and rugged terrain, this pack won't inhibit you from covering serious ground on day hikes. No stranger to being maxed out either, the anatomically correct shoulder harness and load-spreading hip belt support hefty loads when seeking solitude for an evening in the wilderness.
Seven total pockets hold a wide variety of camping and hiking essentials, and six lash points conveniently clip on-trail accessories and tools. An improved sleeping bag compartment allows for easy access without disturbing the pack's contents. Additionally, a vertical back channel promotes air circulation when trudging through oppressive heat and stifling humidity.

Tough and comfortable
- Gender: Female
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I picked this up before a hiking/backpacking trip in the Uinta Mountains here in Utah. The straps are nicely padded. The padding on the hip straps almost seemed too much until I loaded it up with overnight gear, then I was glad to have the extra padding. It got dragged up to the top of Lamotte Peak (12,720') via the steep west-facing drainage, where it got scraped around a lot, and held up just fine. A nice pack.
3 years in still going strong
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I got this pack three years ago and I've used it in all four seasons. Big enough for the winter i can fill the pack put my jacket on top and attach my snow shoes to it. Its really comfortable and adjust well. love the large telescoping central pocket and the top and bottom access pockets. The smaller pockets are great for holding important things like keys, camera and wallet. Haven't found anything I cant do with this pack!!!

Which size should I get? I'm about 5'11".
Pack size does not depend on height, it depends on torso size. To find your torso length, measure from the C7 vertebra (the big one at the base of your neck), down your spine to the line between the top of your hips. Once you find this measurement, refer to the size chart.
Hope this helps!
