For your summit-in-a-day hikes, pack extra layers, water and food into The North Face Terra 30 Backpack and hit the trail. Stuff a compact sleeping bag in the bottom if an overnight might be necessary. Air flows between the pack and your back thanks to an open-air mesh panel across the back of the Terra 30 Pack. This helps prevent your shirt from becoming sweaty and uncomfortable. As the day heats up, peel off your layers and lash them to the outside of the Terra 30 Pack. Grab your water bottles out of the side pockets to stay hydrated, and stash your trekking poles in the pole-loops when the trail flattens out.

Excellent for day trips. I have used it for 1 nighters many times also by carrying pad and tent outside when soloing. Nice side compression straps come in handy for carrying paddle with blade in water pocket.
3 zipped pockets stretch out nicely, also top pouches accessible from outside. Nice stitching, great padding on straps and belt. Recommend!
