If your pissed-off dog went to war with your old puffy because you left him home for the weekend, replace it with The North Face Men’s Tahoe Down Hooded Jacket. This 700-fill goose down jacket keeps you warm on chilly walks home from the bar, frigid nights in your tent, and cold days when you belay your climbing partner. Adjust the hood to cinch down around your face if you feel the arctic air nipping at your ears or if you just want to be incognito. Just be careful not to leave this one around for your pooch to make his new bed in, because he will.

Bottom Line: There’s nothing like a puffy to combat the bone-chilling air.

Hard to say much is wrong with this Jacket. It is warm, fits great, and packs up pretty small considering the comfort it offers.
Super nice.

I was wondering just how waterproof this jacket is? will it get all soggy after a day in a snowstorm or when climbing up a couloir? thanks

It's water resistant rather than waterproof. It seems to hold up better in the snow than most other down jackets I've owned. I wore mine travelling around Korea and after a few hours walking around Seoul in light to middling snowfalls I was still dry and toasty. It will depend a bit on where you are as to whether or not it gets soggy, the damper, stickier snow you get somewhere like New Zealand will probably get into it a bit, but light, powdery snow like japan won't worry you.

Fits small

By:
April 29, 2011

I ordered a size L because I have a tNF fleece that size that fits comfortably with some extra room. This parka was WAY too small! I sold it to my roommate and ordered a Marmot (XL was out of stock). He loves the thing, wears it every day.

Really warm

By:

This really a warm jacket. Close fit (I'm Medium) keeps the wind out and the down does its job to keep the heat in. Ripstop nylyn shell is really tough. I've worn it to work, hiking, bushwhacking, everywhere and no tears or snags yet after a year. Wish the hood was drawstring instead of elastic, but no big deal. Great purchase!

How tall / heavy are you? I want to order this jacket online but unsure if I should go for a small or medium. My chest is 38 inches and I'm 6 feet tall.
