What you wear hiking has more to do with comfort and durability than it does with looking good. Fortunately, The North Face Taggart Pant feels great, looks great, and stands up to tons of abuse, so you don't have to choose. The stretchy fabric, gusseted crotch, and relaxed fit all work together to keep you comfortable all day on the trail–from your waist to your ankles, anyway.

  • Tough, stretchy nylon & elastane construction for long wear and freedom of movement
  • Crotch gusset for freedom of movement
  • Relaxed fit for casual look and comfort
  • Plenty of pocket space for the essentials
  • Snap front with zip-fly for long-lasting durability and easy in-and-out
  • UPF factor of 50 for protection from the sun

Great pants

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift
  • Fit: Runs small

I am a TNF fan, and their hiking clothes always rock. I only gave it 3 stars because of the fit. By my measurements, they run about 2" shy compared to all other pants I own/wear.

I was disappointed in the fit on these 36" pants, as they were no more than 34". Luckily, my nephew wears 34", so I gave him the 36's and was still able to get myself a pair of 38" that fit great. AT this price, I had to get a pair. My nephew should give these 5 stars, since they fit him great and were free, lol.

New the downfall

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

In my opinion great pants. Good stretch and real comfortable when moving around alot. Read the reviews before buying fully knowing about the crappy placement of the cargo pocket. Luckily I don't use cargo pockets because I don't like the feel of things bouncing along my legs.

Good Pant but questionable cargo pocket

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Good overall climbing pant. Good fit and stretch. The only issue is the cargo pocket is placed on the front of the pants. Anything put in that pocket sits right on your knee. Not ideal for climbing or hiking.
