Here's what others have to say...

Almost perfect. Almost.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I love this coat. I want to start my review off by saying that, emphatically. It's by far the most fashionably cut and yet functional parka on the market. I would know because I tried on practically every one of them, from every brand, before settling on this one.

I'm 5'7" and 120 lbs. and I purchased an XS. Amazingly, the sleeves are long enough, which is usually an issue for me. It fits quite snugly, but I can still fit a warm sweater under it on particularly cold NYC days. It looks amazing (I get compliments on the street all the time) and keeps me *almost* perfectly warm.

The small issues I have with the coat are: 1) It's about 4 inches too short in the length for me; I'd really like it to reach my knees and it doesn't. I'm sure it's perfect on women a little shorter than myself. 2) There aren't any cuffs on the sleeves. Most parkas today have cuffs and they make a huge difference on really cold windy days. I understand that because this is 2-coats-in-one its a bit tricky, but I feel like for the price tag they could've found a way to make it work. And 3) I wish there was a fur collar (detachable or not) for the hood. The fur really helps keep the rain and snow out of your face, and again, just about every other parka in this price range and even lower, has it.

That being said, it's an amazing parka and I love that it keeps me warm and dry and still looking reasonably stylish. It's a bit pricy considering its flaws, but I guess that's the price I'm willing to pay to stay warm and not look like a marshmallow!

Great city coat!

I got this coat for my wife for xmas and she has worn it almost everyday since. Its been particularly cold and nasty the last few weeks in Chicago (as in below 0F) and she says the coat keep her quite warm.

The fit is much more stylish than similar coats. She tried some canada goose down, marmot, patagonia and all the other long north face jackets and found this one the most flattering and best fit.

She is 5'10" 140lbs and went with the Small. She was between the medium and small and decide to go with fashion over function.

More fashion than function

My quest for a fashionable and very warm winter coat sadly did not end with this one. It's cute, but far too narrow in the armpit area and did not seem like it could keep me warm through a winter of commuting by foot and train in Chicago. I'm 5'8" and 145 lbs, and neither the M or the L fit in the arm area. The last straw was the pockets - their placement is such that you can't comfortably put your hands in them. They were too much on the front of the coat and the openings were too horizontal to put hands in without having one's wrists bent at an odd angle. If I am going to drop this kind of money on a coat, I expect it to deliver much more than this. I sent it back. Still wearing my not-quite-as-cute but otherwise perfect LLBean's coat.

have this in ivory/white

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

the jacket is pretty warm when i wore it around 5 -10 degrees . My only thing with this jacket is quite heavy to achieve the same warmth as the other regular down jackets. It feels heavy to hike with it.

Not a good fit for a petite

The coat fit will in the shoulders, but was far too long in the sleeves and was not a flattering fit. I'm guessing that this coat probably won't work for anyone under 5'5". (I am 5'2" and there was just no way.) Nice construction, fabric and materials and I think it would have performed well in wet and cold conditions; I'm sorry I have to return it.

Is there anyway that you sell the gray...

Is there anyway that you sell the gray lining with the black outer coat?

Hi, thank you for your question-

Unfortunately, we cannot mix/match the liners with the exterior shells, sorry about that!
