AWESOME Backpack

I bought this pack about a month ago in black. I love that The North Face makes gender-specific sizes because whether we like it or not women have a different weight and balance distribution. But I would love it if they offered gender neutral colors for women (not just pinks and purples). Aside from all that, let's get into the product itself. I'm a student in college and I like backpacks with a lot of organization. I've been looking for a backpack that has the perfect size, I mean I've gone through 4 in the past few years and they always seem to be too big for me (120lbs, 5'0"). This backpack is relatively big to my size but it has a good proportion distribution, It doesn't droop at the bottom like a big pear. It's also extremely comfortable and keeps the weight off pretty well with all of my accessories, notebooks, 1 textbook and my 15" macbook pro. It's also very attractive in design, sporty and stylish. One thing I would change is to add more protection for the laptop compartment because it's really just another compartment with minimal protection (a little padding at the bottom that isn't very functional ). And another thing I would change is the zipper quality. It gets stuck sometimes and isn't as smooth as I've experience with other brands. I've had backpacks that are made with better material and better laptop compartments for sure, but I would compromise those things for this great design and organization. I love it so far!

L-O-V-E this pack!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I shopped around quite a bit before settling on this backpack, and I love it! I purchased the Vaporous Grey Heather and was a little hesitant, but it was better than I expected. It's not as bright white as this picture shows, so I was really happy with the muted color. It has tons of pockets to keep me organized. It fits my larger laptop, which was almost impossible to find! As an added bonus, the laptop sleeve is a zippered section all its own, so it makes it super easy to take in and out without digging around everything else in my bag. I've used it as a carry-on to get through airport security, and it was a breeze! It's big enough to stow all my daily needs but small enough to grab for the everyday use. Between work and 2 kids, I'm on the go a LOT, and this backpack has been perfect for the busy lifestyle. I'm putting it through the wringer, and it's holding up great so far. Even if it doesn't, North Face offers a lifetime warranty, so you really can't go wrong with this bag.

Love pack - but beware of stinger yellow

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I first ordered the stinger yellow of this pack because I totally love yellow. When I received the pack, I found that it was more of a lime green / odd yellowish color instead of the light yellow in the image. So, I returned it and got the white pack. Totally love it. It feels great on, and has tons of useful pockets. My last North Face backpack was the Recon and it last for 10 years of heavy use and abuse....and this one seems just as well made. I am excited to put it to the test!
