Description

Super light and durable.

During mountain adventures, you typically spend half of your day lugging a hefty pack over uneven ground. The other half you spend nestled in your tent trying to rest. Not only will The North Face Superlight 0-Degree Down Sleeping Bag lighten your load during those long, skyward treks, its soft, fluffy down insulation will also help you rest better at night so you can get up and do it all over again the next day.
  • The 650-fill down insulation retains your body’s warmth and provides a high warmth-to-weight ratio
  • Synthetic anti-compression fill is strategically located in areas where your body typically comes in contact with the ground so as to create a more durable insulating layer and reduce heat loss
  • Vaulted footbed won’t constrict your feet and helps promote circulation to your lower extremities
  • Ergonomically shaped hood provides extra comfort, improves the bag’s warmth-retention, and reduces its overall weight
  • Trapezoidal-shaped baffle system ensures a consistent fill volume to reduce cold spots
  • The grey goose down in this bag is purchased from small, family-owned farms that do not live-pluck or force-feed the geese

I've used this bag anywhere from the mid teens to mid fifties for camping. Lately, I've been sleeping in the back of the car and it's still working wonders. When the temperature gets too hot, I still use the bag as a blanket. I ordered the small because I'm around 5'4" and the fit is just perfect! It's light, warm, durable, and overall a great bag.

I've now used this bag in conditions ranging from the 40's to the low teens. For the latter, unzipping and using it as a footed quilt worked best; for the colder, totally bundled up kept me toasty (and the wind was blowing 25-30 mph, so the wind chill was substantial). Packs very small if you have a valved stuff sack.

What happened to the Superlight Endurance bag with the Pertex shell rated at -5 degrees?

That specific product is discontinued.
North Face does still use Pertex on some of their higher end bags. The Summit Series, for example.

I've had this bag almost 1 year and have used it for both backpacking and car camping down to 15 degrees F or so. I use it with an ultralight Thermarest underneath and wear a base layer and have been quite comfortable in the cold and just unzipped it/laid on top when it was warm. The compression sack the bag comes with isn't very good at really packing it down for backpacking. Mummy hood once cinched up stays put pretty well to lock in warmth through the night (and rolling over while sleeping).

A zero degree down bag is a great piece to cover you in most situations and this one is tried and true....a steadfast part of my quiver!

Great bag for any season. Great zippers that haven't gotten stuck and best of all - it's compact! Love it.

The bag packed away great. Could really take as much as air out of it as you can press it. The only complaint I had about it is the compression. I used my own dry sack instead. The back was extremely comfortable. I got the large version just for the extra room to put clothes down there and such to keep warm. The top also forms very well around your head. I thrash around a lot at night in my sleep and the bag had plenty of room for me. Enjoy!

This bag is super compact, light, and reasonably warm- making it ideal for spring, summer, fall, and warmer winter excursions. If you're bivying in a snow cave, I'd probably opt for a little bit better insulated bag, but if you're snow camping in a tent, it's generally pretty warm. I usually carry this bag, plus a bivy sac to add a few extra degrees of warmth. If you're regularly snow camping with ski boots, kick down for the extra long one so you can keep your liners in the bottom- allowing them to dry out a bit while you snooze.
